if you want to know a lot about lore I recommend going to "* souls lore" there the informal ones are very complete and with good theories

Objectively bad game with some fun sections. No wonder Miyazaki came back, he realized how badly he ****ed up when giving DS2 to an intern. Hopefully that guy either learned how to properly create games or got fired.

miazaki first souls was bad as was ds2 creator's first souls, and just to add ds2 is better than demon souls

ds2 is not close to being better then dms just bc dms is a complete game, it has bugs, but it's balanced and does what it is designed for, hard but fair, unless you want to agree that ds2 also was successful on making what it wanted, being hard by being unfair

do you know that demon souls has some areas missing? and demon souls may be fair but it's a lot easier than ds2, unless you're talking about ds2 sotfs I don't remember being so unfair ds2

yeah dms is unfinished as well, I do admit I was wrong there, but it does do what its trying to do, hard but fair, and it has it's bug (even more in the emulator), but ds2 is unfinished as in unpolished, very very poor hitbox (a downgrade from ds1), 8 direction movement, not rolling, moving (dont remember if it was fixed on softs), enemie placement and AI, meaning new players have a much harder time, bc of an overwelming amount of spam and ambushes (shrine of amana, FoFG, iron keep, pre-blue Smelter Demon, a few of the exemples) that don't add anything, a good enemie, a diferent attack pattern, just there for the sake of being able to say the game is hard. All things the previous game had done better (With the exception of Lost Izalith which is very lazy, I usualy just run pass it bc theres no point, and the library from Seath) all not big areas that had to be cut like in dms, but polish, that was left out and never done better, without even mentioning that softs is a cashgrab bc it gives the bare minimum (60fps iada iada iada) and not mentioning adp, soul memory and the weapons that, IN MY OPINION, are just very much quantity over quality as they have nowhere near as much depth as the previous games, and is hindered by soul memory

also to add, ds2's creator shouldn't be fired, but the corporates made this game that had a lot of potential be a husk of what it wanted to be, it's a really unpolished and disapointing game but with a lot of soul, the pursuer could have been so much more then just get 2 more moves and apear in other areas, for example, he could have dialog, he could apear randomly, so much more, but the game was rushed for profit.

ds2 is unfair for it's poor balancing of enemie placement, adp, soul memory, world design etc... it's not harder, it may be for newer players but if you know what you are doing it just becomes a chore, for example iron keep, shrine of amana and the area for blue smelter demon, all of which put a lot of enemies for no reason but waste your time, they are not inovating, neither are they challenging, just to make the gamer "harder" for the sake of hard, so makes it very hard for new players with all the spam (Like FoFG that has that tree trunk that spams enemies at you, no new eneies, just normal ones) and tedious if not, ADP is just very dumb, it would make sense in an RPG IF you had the other stuff, like in morrowind you have your skills that determine a chance for you to hit your weapon, it isn't like that in ds2, nor any of the ds, ds2 just changed it for the sake of changing it, again, no upgrade, no quality of life, just changing, back to dms, it's just the basics, a few weapons whil having a in depth upgrade sistem makes them unique, also different for ds2, a lot of weapons, not a lot of depth, but if you like it it's fine, ds2 also has a lot of it missing, as qe know the story was gonna be different, and the gutter as well as many other things that were just rushed, making it very unpolished, like the hitbox, yes dms has poor hitbox as well, but its 2009, and ds1 has already improved on a lot of it, and ds2's hitbox is worse then ds1's, also softs is just a disgusting way to get more money from people that played ds2 bc it does not give you anything new, just 60fps (which should have already been in the game) and a few enemy placement, that don't change basically anythng, demon's souls was a baseline from what we came to expect from dark souls, there's a lot of things I didn't toutch on but, you can't say ds2 is better, you can prefer it, but demon's souls did what it was meant to, be a challenging but fair game, and unfinnished for not having time/resourses, ds2 is unfinihed becouse they wanted more money independent if the game had may hitbox, world structure (some places being on top of others and the landscapes not matching), AI (in the dlc theres an elevator that you can make go up, and if youstand in the square where it was the enemies cant get to you), and in my opinion, the graphics look like plastic, ds1 and dms have a better vibe and ambiance, and the weapons n ds2 are very boring but that's just me.

you said ds2 is unfinished for bad reasons but where did you get this information from???

you're the only one who thinks the graphics look plastic, to me it seems that they gave a toon style that looks much more beautiful, in ds1 towards the end of the game I started to get sick of the graphics, because they are too forced to be dark, everything looks burned moreover, it is characteristic of the game but for being old it ends up not being pretty.

and the ds2 hitbox is less buggy than ds1, the grabs where you teleport are just because of the animation but if you saw it in slow motion you would see that it was hit by the enemy, while ds1 and dms when it bugs it's because the hitbox really failed, the hitbox is very buggy in ds1 with enemies attacking through the wall and the butts on the ground taking much more than they should, and not to mention ceaceless discharge.

and why do people complain so much about adp? just level up to 20 or more and that's it, it's no big deal

so, hitbox problem isn't just the grabs, although it doesen't make any sence that if the skirt of the boss touched me he grabs me, and this also explains part of the adp question, theres no good reason why it should be in the game, it doesen't have any visual indications (Besides the time to drink stus which also doesen't make sense to make Item use a skill) as the type of roll doesen't affect I-frames, which can also lead to what a player may see as a buggy grab or hit becouse adp is not explained anwhere in the game, so if you aren't explained on what it does you may just not level it up at all until post finishing the game (as I and many I see here on the wiki have done) and it breaks the balance of the game bc they put too many thing to level up so the game gives you too much souls and it just becomes too easy to have 99 lifegems at basically the start of the game which leads to the lifegem problem that it's basically impossible to die with 99 lifegems at all times by just spending the rest of your souls of a level up in them, also there are many attacks from yours and enemy weapons that have buggy hitboxes, and attacks that even if you are lockded on will just miss (more common in UGS), and attacks in ds2 also got through walls, and spells too. Ds1 is indeed dark and I see how that can look ugly, but it's the asthetic, and I wasn't the one who thought of ds2s looking like plastic, there was a comment in the armors of ds2 that said it, and as I don't have a dscription of why the graphics look off for me, I used the best description I could. The unfinished part, it is clearly very unpolished, even softs, with all the AI and hitbox bugs not being fixed and the terrain of iron keep being inside another terrain (forgot which one), and it has been said that there was supposed to be another story, the game was rushed and made only for cash, softs only reinforces that by being litterally just an update for 60 fps with a full price, another thing that reinforces this point is the enemy balancing, the producers probably looked at ds and thought, oh they like hard game? what make hard game? good and balanced enemies with differet attack patterns and a chance of taking most of them one by one? no just put a **** ton of them there, hence most of this games areas, FoFG, iron keep, heides tower of flames, Frigid Outskirts, Iron Passage, no mans warf, the gutter, black gulch (which has 3 red phantoms that can spawn simultaniously). And no, this isn't a test of crowd control, places like the first part of undead parish, the dukes archives, give you places to hide from enemies, in ds2 the best you are gonna get is a door or passage, bc the environmants are also very unlived on and vague, like lost izalith, things seem to just be there for no reason, which is reinforced by the more linear (star shaped) progression of the game, and things like iron keep being on top of harvest valley.

Patrick Bateman : Do you like Huey Lewis and The News?

Paul Allen : They're OK.

Patrick Bateman : Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

Paul Allen : Hey Halberstram.

Patrick Bateman : Yes, Allen?

Paul Allen : Why are there copies of the style section all over the place, d-do you have a dog? A little chow or something?

Patrick Bateman : No, Allen.

Paul Allen : Is that a rain coat?

Patrick Bateman : Yes it is! In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.

[raises axe above head]

Patrick Bateman : Hey Paul!

[he bashes Allen in the head with the axe, and blood splatters over him]

Patrick Bateman : TRY GETTING A RESERVATION AT DORSIA NOW, YOU ****ING STUPID BASTARD! YOU, ****ING BASTARD!
