No, i'm pretty sure it isn't. A lot of words have multiple spellings, for example, British vs American English. Maybe that could be it?

"Solider" is as much an alternate spelling of "soldier" as "bonerk" is an alternate spelling of "broken"

Has anyone had this happen?

I decided to do as much prep work before starting the main journey and that included getting the Fire Keeper Souls from both New Londo and Blighttown. I progressed normally through the story and got to the Undead Parish to get my third soul and then went back to Firelink. The Fire Keeper was already dead! I then went back to Undead Parish and Lautrec wasn't even in his cell and the cell door was closed. After checking my inventory I saw I already had the Black Eye Orb.

What the crap is going on!?

Going to blight town normally is when he kills Anastasia and he normally gets out by himself after the first bell is rung so when you got to blight town he killed her

Knight Lautrec page says

"Lautrec will stay in Firelink Shrine until you have either rung both bells, or taken the Fire Keeper Souls from the Undead Parish and Blighttown, whichever occurs first. Once you have done either of the above, he will kill Anastacia and disappear (regardless if he was freed from his cell or not)."

Instead of fighting the horde upstairs.

-shoot an arrow at one of them from the alter, then run straight they will start dropping and you can kill them off easily

I ran up there all brave and tough and then saw what looked like a scene from the walking dead. I finished about half of them off in a brave last stand before I was ganked to death

I just finished Ornstein and Smough, then avenged the firekeeper. On my way through the church, I was attacked by this strange bug-like creature that had crab claws. He was in the corner by the tower knight spot.
