I know, the game seems to have a very low amount of titanite chunks, but has a strange over abundance of titanite slabs. I would have loved it if I could just drop on the ground one of the 25 slabs I have in my inventory, hit it with a hammer and have it turn into a few titanite chucks.

Limited amount in the game until you beat Nashandra and buy with Stone Trader Chloanne(Stock becomes unlimited).

Before defeating Nashandra, the most efficient farm I found was in Black Gulch. I guess either bonfire could work, but I used the starting bonfire. There are 3 Coal Tars nearby. Join the Company of Champions for unlimited spawns. Break all the poison-spitting totems, then you can strip all but your essentials and item discovery gear to speed things up since you won't be getting hit by anything. Be sure you're running back to touch the bonfire so the totems stay broken

Agreed on everything except I would actually recommend the second bonfire since there are more darksuckers in the area just outside it (IIRC) and running back to the second bonfire from there is faster. Alternatively, if you want to get all the enemies each run, the best way would be to run back and forth from one bonfire to the other.

I got 3 from farming the black gulch. took a few times but as long as you have the gold serpent ring equipped it shouldn't be too bad.

Black Gulch, 2nd Bonfire, Company of Chumpions, and Have Much Fire Arrows! Run ahead to the ledge, but dont drop down. There are 3 of these things hiding in the oil pools that you can hit from this "window". Launch a fire arrow into each, run back to bonfire, as soon as the 3rd ones souls deposit, rinse, repeat, collect b4 you get invaded.

This works great! I don't like wasting arrows willy-nilly, so I ran around when breaking the statues, and dropped a Prism Stone in each pool that spawned a monster. There are actually 4, but one is a good deal further away.

Can vouch for this spot. Been farming for 10 minutes and already got 6 chunks. Got two in one run just now. It's faster if you just run out and wallop them with a hard hitting melee weapon.

even better, if you just enchant your bow with a firedrake stone, then it lights the pools on fire at the cost of cheap *** wood arrows. much easier to get than expensive fire arrows

fire arrows are limited, so better if you have high int faith, use the fire longsword which you get in forest of fallen giants in sotfs.

If you're farming the Caol Tar beasts, don't forget to spam your loot button if they die in the pool as the item drop isn't visible in the tar.

Lighting them on fire also works, which is how I go about killing them anyway. They'll burn out after a minute and leave a small recession in the ground.

I am farming them using fireball, just aim close to the pool and the AoE will make them exit the pool while the pool goes up in flames, doing damage to them.
