Please be top-tier

There's almost no way it couldn't be. Massively long, greatsword moveset with the high poise modifier, very low Str/Dex requirements along with good Int+Fth scaling on a largely unresisted damage type, high base damage on that type which makes the scaling better, and the ability to buff itself even further? It's like a textbook case of everything a weapon needs to be good, and it's specifically made for pyromancers.

Im going for 40 INT, FTH, and hoping that will be 650+AR with the buff. It was love at first sight. Also will be able to maintain 50 VIG, VIT thanks to the crazy low min requirements. Lvl 180.

Does this do dark damage or fire damage?

Mon Oct 17, 2016 3:17 pm
Dark damage naturally, the self-buff weapon skill adds fire damage.

So triply split damage? Well I guess the buff is just a freebie on top of the normal damage. A little odd that the black flame buff does fire damage when the black flames of the dark pyromancies do dark damage.

It is very odd, but I'm wondering if it was just a mistake in the arena demo. Like, maybe they didn't specify the damage type right so it defaulted to fire instead of dark.

I hope they'll patch it. It's a dark buff, why the hell does it add fire damge? Basically if you use this buff, you split in 3 ways your damage, making it useless

The buff adds 145 fire damage, so even after defenses it's still noticeable.

I am all over this weapon. My Pyro Knight will be happy.
To note the recent footage seen this weapon scales of Str/Dex/Int & Faith. The Intel and Faith likely to be the higher multipliers. C Rating I think.

180 dark attack? We're gonna get that sweetspot for mixed damage, oh boy.

With the patch notes stating that they are fixing poise in conjunction to Heavier armor I'm gonna be making a new themed build
Londor Knight build

Didn't fix poise :/
I had 33.89 poise and the bandit's knife wielding hooded hollows broke my poise with one hit.
Life's sad.

Poise works the same way it always has, the only thing that's changed is how much you get. Read the poise page on this wiki. Maybe they changed the windows on some ultra attacks?

If the sword hits you while in the WA animation, it does do a bit of damage, so keep that in mind. I might use this somehow with my Ichigo cosplay build.

What would be a good build for this weapon? base STR-DEX and 50-50 int-faith?

Thu Oct 20, 2016 4:42 am
Weapons normally hit their major softcap at 40 with very few exceptions, so you might want to try 14str/12dex/40int/40fth. (14str/12dex being the base requirements)

Given that it does dark damage, I'm going to use 14str/12dex/45int/45fth with my dark magic sorcery build, since the Izalith staff hit the spell damage softcap at 45int/45fth. Then the dark clutch ring will boost the damage of my sword and my spells.

I'm planning on having 40 int/fth and 25 dex/str. I think that would be optimal but I'm not sure. That's at lvl 190 though.

Could Elfriede and Friede be the same person?

Fri Oct 21, 2016 5:55 am
They are, yes.

So in the dlc we fight one of yuria's sisters? Interesting.

Friede is likely an affectionate shortening of Elfriede, as only people who know her personal refer to her as Friede.
