one of 3 weapons for a faith build make it end game scaling. ' miyazaki. srsly. 24 24 to use B in dex and faith u are looking at a SL 80 minimum weapon. only fun spear in the game, make sure spears suck to use

Silver Knight Spear, Demon Spear, and Butterfly Horn are all better spears than this. And that's a pretty good spread. Demon Spear has low reqs and does half lightning damage - prob the best low req spear. Silver Knight is OP mid game because you can max it out as soon as you get to the Giant BS in Anor Londo.
Butterfly Horn is long as **** and scales really well with Int.
TLDR: You're using the wrong spears, man.

Demon Spear also has the longest range of any (non-projectile) melee weapon with it's insane 2hR2. It pretty much outperforms the Dragonslayer Spear for any possible meta level build. SKSS is great and not just in the midgame, it stays perfectly solid all the time. Honorable mention to the Partizan for those sweeping attacks but imo it just lacks behind the SKSS in the end.

Hey Wyvern.. By skss are you refering to the s. Knight straight sword or the spear? I wonder becauseeverything else in the discussion seems focused on spears.... and because I just don't get what is supposedly so great about the sword. It is twice as heavy, with a worse move set and the sane damage as the BSS. The SK spear on the other hand has a special place in my heart.. it is my my catacomb goto..

Past 40 Faith D.S.S will out do Demon Spears Lightning damage. Not to mention the Strong movesets of D.S.S

Anon from Jun 8th, Butterfly Horn has no Thrust/Physical damage. It won't benefit from Counter damage or Leo Ring. Main upsides to the Spear class. S.K.S isn't bad midgame but D.S gets outdone past 40 Dex/Fth D.S.S

Best to leave strength and faith at minimum, as the best scaling comes from dex. Then stuff points into strength as the strength scaling is preferential as it's also physical, and lastly put the least into faith, as it yields the smallest returns. Or better yet, ditch this weapon and choose a buff-able spear with 40 dex and 40 faith, put lightning blade on it, and you will do way more damage in both physical and electric.

In DkS1, D.S.S is the only lightning damage weapon in the game that actually has Faith scaling, besides being able to connect twice with 1H Strong, it's 2h Strong sends foes flying.

Also, it's scaling determinds it's damage. Putting Str in D.S.S over Faith would be a serious waste. I'm talking nearly just over half of what Dex/Faith would give

A lot of weapons were originally enchantable. But from has patched that out. Since you could make like, weapons that just one shot on a r1 with sunlight blade lol.

Anyone know how the faith scaling works in this weapon? Does it boost the lightning damage? It doesn’t have magic damage for Faith scaling to boost, so does it go into the lightning?

You can ascend a +10 rapier as well. At least for me it is available for +10 Ricard's rapier.
