It depends if it's a good question or a bad one. If you're asking a very stupid question, or a question that is already covered in the wiki, then you deserve a downvote.

Even perfectly fine questions get downvoted which is dumb. Also, while there are some obvious examples of exceptions, "good question or bad question" is pretty subjective. Anyone who downvotes a question could be like "It was a bad question", but what they mean is "It was a bad question by my understanding of the asker's understanding.". Some things may seem obvious to us who already know the answer, than to someone who doesn't even know where to look FOR the answer, and we shouldn't be so narrow-sighted as to forget that.

You don’t need white titanite, you use regular shards and large shards then queelags boss soul to ascend it...

How am I supposed to get scimitar to +10 before anor londo? It's impossible, these titanite shards drop rate is fuxking awful.

Another way to collect the titanite you need is to farm the maggots in the Blighttown Swamp. If you're patient, it's not hard to bring 10 soft humanity down there with you, particularly if you have the master key to take the easy route down via the Valley of Drakes entrance, rather than the Depths/Upper Blighttown deathmarch, and barring that, the crab-spider-nightmare fuel down there also counts for soft humanity farming. Or you can burn a bunch of humanity items. You can also take the Covetous Gold Ring from Sen's Fortress with you instead/as well, though that might be a problem for farming if you use the Faith And Protection ring you can loot off Lautrec, since that breaks when unequipped and you'll want your other ring slot for the Rusted Iron Ring. Regardless, you'll get a pretty spectacular drop rate out of those things. Plus they're slow and easy to kill, and there's tonnes of them. You'll get yourself a suitable supply of titanite, no problem. (I can vouch for this strategy - I used it to buff my falchion to +10 before fighting Quaelaag, and have been thoroughly satisfied with the results of that grind. I'll probably be trading it in for the Furysword once I reach the smith.
