This sword helped me with a lot of early bosses, I love it so much.

Somehow managed to brave through half of Sen’s Fortress using this deceptive weapon. Although I quickly opened my eyes and proceeded to switch for the Lightning Spear instead

So if using this weapon late game makes it harder, doesn't that just mean that if someone were to play with just this sword and beat the game, they are at least somewhat good at the game by the end of it?

Well if you're gonna do that, why not be a real man and use the straight sword hilt?

Total noob bait, but very useful early on if you know what you're doing.

The definitive "beginner's weapon", in a good way. Can get you to level 35 without upgrades (who upgrades this damn sword anyway)

It is useful till capra, but please dont upgrade it for 10000 souls!

There's at least one good reason to get this weapon: obtaining Havel's Ring early on. At low levels, any other weapon does minimal damage to Havel (even with backstab or riposte), making the fight impractical.

I found Havel's Ring + Chain Set is especially nice early on; you can have some def and poise without slowing your roll. Definitely worth a few minutes of spamming arrows!

actually you dont need arrows. You just need to make the dragon go down to the bridge and hit its tail. Only two hits with the golden pine resin and its yours

Crescent Axe and Gravelord Sword also wreck him if you raided the Catacombs early game.

Havel's Ring... any new game I do on this game, I just can't not get it early

I beat Havel with an non upgraded Astora Straight Sword like a breeze. He’s too easy to backstab.

Havel is insanely easy, you can beat him with the hilt. Just circle him

If you get naked, upgrade the Reinforced Club and grab the Red Tearstone Ring, you only need to get off 6 or 7 backstabs to kill him. Though this will still be a significant challenge for new players. This is more of a strat that veteran players use to get it early.

BKS is better, but Drake has lower requirements and is a guaranteed drop.

Use this till Sen's then switch for the lighting spear to save upgrade materials for any +10 weapon of your choice once you hit Anor Londo.
