Not to mention it also likely eroded and grew less durable with age

Probably one of the best Great Hammers, has superior AR and identical scaling when fully upgraded compared to the Demon Great Hammer, it's lighter and in general has pretty reasonable weight for a weapon of its class, it is one of the longest greathammers, and it has a very good moveset, having ultra greatsword r1s when 2-handed and the suprisingly fast 2-handed pancake R2 is very well complemented by the good reach, and the 1-handed r1s are very good at rollcatching if you aim your swings well, also in Scholar of the First Sin you can get it early relatively easily if you fight the Belfry Gargoyles.

Funny how both the Dragon Tooth and Grand Lance, two very powerful and high-tier weapons are very easy to get early in Scholar of the First Sin compared to the base game where they are very late-game weapons, although with how brutal and downright cruel Scholar of the First Sin can be it's fairly understandable why that change was made.

Trash wep
Basic R1 will often swing behind you even tho your locked onto enemies in front of you
Almost every attack has the wep hit the ground which causes the Durability to drop steadily
The weight, stamina cost, skill req, AND changed moveset from DS1 make it not worth compared to other weapons.
In DS1 you could roll and press R1 to do a very quick attack, in this its just another basic club slam attack.

Ultra weapons have manual aim on some or all attacks, depending on the weapon. It's swinging behind you because you're holding down on the left stick

Why it is given so early?

It isn't that early, you have to use a fragrant branch and beat Ruin Sentinels & Gargoyles. And you also get a very good strength spear from the Gargoyles' soul.

When you are wielding two of them, do you know if the 50 percent buff stacks too a 100 percent increase? Or does it just stay at 50 percent?

This guy out here asking the real questions in 2022. That’s definitely something worth testing.

dark souls 2 defense works different its a 50 points of defense so its literally 50 damage less if you equip two you get 100 damage less

Each point of elemental defense adds 0.1111% damage reduction in DS2. So wielding a Dragon Tooth essentially make you take 5.555% less damage from said elements. And yes, at 900 defense you're immune to that element.

Basically, for elemental defense, 10 points of defense equals 1% damage reduction, 900 being the max reduction. Works very differently for physical damage.

Durability on this weapon is a joke. Must be something about great hammers, because using the blacksmiths hammer with only 10 more points of durability i never had to worry about weapon breakage. Switched to this and now I have to carry around repair powder in my pockets like a ****ing samurai. Broke in the middle of a fight with an invader. Good thing it was a scripted invasion. Tracking also sucks donkey balls. My character will for no reason turn his back to the enemy and slam the ground in 180• the wrong direction sometimes. ****ing ******* like this makes me understand how people bad be talking **** about DS2 as the worst souls. I think it’s a great game, with a map that’s probably even more interesting than Elden Ring’s, but this kinda **** just made me rage quit for the first time in a long time.

Lol lock on is not your friend in DS2. Heavy weapons can be free aimed for much more precision.

You need to get used to manually aiming with big weapons in Ds2, lockon can be absolutely awful and extremely unwieldy with bigger weapons since they aim wherever you point the left stick towards even when you're locked on unless you're standing completely still

Why would you lock on with a hammer o.O
