In SOTFS, if you fight the large Drakekeeper Knights as you encounter them (one per level), then the smaller Dragonfang knights don't attack you.
At the top, just before the ancient dragon, you need to fight the central Dragonfang knight to avoid fighting all the ones along the sides. Although it is quite possible to run past the central Dragonfang warrior on the last staircase - they won't follow you all the way up to the ancient At the top, just before the ancient dragon, you need to fight the central Dragonfang knight to avoid fighting all the ones along the sides. The Blackdragon Short Sword can also be acquired as a drop from the Dragonfang knights

Drakekeepers are vulnerable to Dark attacks too, 3 Dark Orbs for the Sword wielder and 5 for the Mace guy with 50 faith and a Sunsetstaff +6

I ran through this area thinking it was no different from Dark Souls 2, boy was i wrong. After seeing my summon pull the aggro from everyone on the staircase i spent 30 minutes killing them all only to be slain by the actual knight who you're suppose to duel because i got greedy with the last hit, I lost 200k souls after trying to make my way back to my bloodstain only to die from a wyvern landing on the bridge and killing me and three of the knights. I came to see what was up with this area and low and behold, if you enter the first drakekeepers area carefully you'll notice the knight on the left Bowing to you, you don't aggro on them what so ever aslong as you kill the aggressive drakekeepers. This was a change that i think From could of mentioned about.

because the summons is considered "hollow" (what a summon technical is). The dragon warriors attack everything that is hollow. Return their gesture and other bs is just crap made up to confuse newbies. DON'T BE HOLLOW...that's all there is to this story.

Passing the Drake Warrior (passive) guarding the small bridge, drop down till you come across the wood chest containing the titanite slab is his summoning sign as a SHADE in a small corner. However, do note that he is aggressive towards EVERY enemy, so he will attack the warriors and the keepers.

I'm on the Xbone version, and the summoned shade only pulls aggro automatically if you have not killed the leader at the top of the stairs before the Ancient Dragon boss. I have cleared this area many dozens of times (currently on 8x bofire ascetic), because I'm trying to get a 2nd Blackdragon Longsword. I have many extras of the Blackdragon and Drakekeeper gear and weapons to give away (also over 100 extra Dragonscales, if you need some for the covenant). Best way to reach me is on XBL, GT: Fester710. I am at max soul level tier, so I think you will need to be around 10 to 12 million SL in order to hook up with me. I also have a lot of other popular rare goodies from lots of farming for giveaway or trade, and I am up for coop or assisting anyone. Headset is best for chatting. Thanks!

Actually you can use a summon, its just that the dragonfangs will automatically aggro on you. I think another person had posted that to coop, only one person can be in the aggro range of the drakekeepers and dragonfangs at a time, until the fight with the dragon fnags is over.

The link above that says: "King Vendrick" goes to a page called "King Vendricks" which doesn't exist. It is in the first paragraph under Dragon Shrine at the end.Vendrick's link: https://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Vendrick

Bashful Ray can be summoned in the drop-down area with the chest before the fight with the hammer & shield Drakekeeper and the invasion of Dragonfang Villard in the Petrified Egg room. He's very effective, but aggros every Dragon Knight in the visible area though. You've been warned.

Depends on your calibration and game version, I have a older unpatched version of sofs with all the mimics but minus most of the pesky dlc invaders

People can apparently invade you even when hollowed. Take care; undead.
