If you play the original on ps3, the second knight (the one with the hammer) drops sublime bone dust, he also only spawns once.

I was using the first three to farm and then the first one stopped respawning. After a few more against the next two, the second one (with the non-sword weapon) stopped respawning. Then once more on the third one and he stopped respawing. I mean yay it makes the area easier to get through, but man, it was a good place to get souls quickly.

You CAN actually stagger them. Not very much, but it is noticeable; as they stop their attack and shift slightly. I did it with the mace as a night with the Stone Ring early on, and with similar circumstances later.

I lost 28K after farming there. It sucked.

Further research, they cannot be poisoned.

Notes: they appear non-resistant to fire, cannot be critical-attacked in any way, equipment can be broken while worn on them via acid, a nd they will stagger the player regardless of poise count.

Notes: It is difficult to get out of the way of their attacks of you are close to them, they can somehow hit you mid roll and you can't back away from them in time.

I'm wearing most of the Heide Knight set, and when I agro the old knight outside the dragonrider, he approaches me but does not attack. Even though I'm drilling arrow after arrow into him, it's like he recognizes me as a Heide Knight and backs away. Quite humorous, really.

It has nothing to do with Heide set though, a lot of foes throughout the game have this "leash" mechanic if you try to snipe them from afar. Most notable example is archdrake dudes in final area of shrine of Amana. If you shoot them with arrows from near the bonfire they will come towards you but soon just back up with their shields raised.

What the acetone spawn rate
By Anonymous

I know I'm 5 years late, but the "acetone" (Palestone) drop rate is actually pretty decent with high item discovery. Sometimes I get 2-3 a run from the first bonfire in Heide's Tower to the bonfire after Dragonrider, going back and forth through all 7 knights. Reminded to make sure you're in the Company of Champions covenant so they don't despawn.

Those guys are very good for starters to learn how to dodge, 3 or rarely 4 hits combos with pauses, giving opportunities to attack and punishing greedy players.

Yea and this is ******* since you have no ADP when you start so you can't reliably frame through their attacks . Spacing and strafing are your only friends against these guys .
