To fellow players new to DS2 and are having trouble finding the hidden wall with the sorcerers catalyst behind it. Some hidden walls in DS2 are not destructible. They ones that aren’t destructible, can be opened by interacting with it (though a prompt will not appear you can still interact).

yeah, after the part with Pate, there's a hallways with a bunch of enemies after he closes the gate. There's an illusory wall and in the chest there's a staff
