-fex is also a Latin suffix meaning "that which creates." A panifex for instance is a baker. Technically this means that her name means "maker of birds" but given a bit of linguistic leeway it can mean "a maker that is a bird."

Could also mean Bird that creates

Fex in latin seperatly means 'sex' as in man/woman, but as a suffix it does mean something like creator or performing indeed. I think 'fix' may even be a diversion of fex but this is just me guessing.
