You need the heavy iron key. It's in the pit in the forest near cardinal tower bonfire with the flame spitting lizards.

I just beat the game, is the DLC worth it or should I do it on New Game+?

The big iron key is back in forest of fallen giants, Cardinal tower bonfire, in the lizard pit. Good luck!

Definitely worth it. It's challenging and fun at the same time.

I've noticed once you get the elevators working and go up two levels to a door that opens up to an Iron Warrior. After defeating him there are multiple doors in this corridor that open to, what I believe to be, an easter egg nodding towards Game of Thrones. Behind the doors are none other than the infamous sky cells Tyrion Lannister found himself visiting during his stay/trial at The Eyrie. Anyone else notice this?

the concept of a cell with a cliff instead of a wall has been used in other fictional fantasy works prior to game of thrones. If I'm not mistaken it has its basis in a real medieval prison in France but I can't find a reference for it at the moment. So DS2 is probably just continuing the general use of the trope rather than directly referencing the GoT use of it.

Yea turns out my Long sword is GoT reference too. It says and I quote "Long Sword of the don't compare that trash to Dark Souls"

I would try it out before new game + for the opportunity to gain armor or weapons and begin upgrades mostly.. And to Iron King's question did you get the key (old Iron Key) from Forest of Fallen Giants bottom floor by the The Last Giant Boss and fire salamanders?

Hard *** DLC. Sheesh, as a Souls veteran I'm not afraid to admit this DLC was VERY challenging and hyper aggressive. I'm not complaining, a few bad developer choices here and there. But yeah, this is definitely the hardest thing I've experienced in a Souls game thus far.

ended up rerolling characters because of the bosses in this dlc... went from mage to using a beefier ultra greatsword user. still difficult as all hell. Fume knight was easy enough relative to the other two...i wouldnt have beaten the last two without the summons. jesus, their damage and speed almost made me cry. seriously teared up because of their broken *** damage lol. my god i could go on but....im done ranting.

the two thins that make fume knight hard are his vigilance and damage; bring many adaptability.
