I have not played dark souls 2 yet but I want to get it. I was going to buy this sotfs edition but I've heard the new loot and enemy placements are for the worse, is that true? I'm kinda leaning towards buying the original because I don't think the graphical changes would effect me that much on pc. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!

In my opinion, SotFs is better since it challenges you more by throwing more and more and more enemies at you. Some of the new enemy placements are a bit annoying like the dragon outside the dragonslayer boss but it is negligible.

I loved dark souls 2 even thought it was easy, but in my opinion sotfs was a sorry excuse for justice. Yeah the changes to the lore and item description were cool but it's the enemy placement that's keeps me from going back. It's just ridiculous how many enemies are in an area now and why is there a living dragon in front of the old dragon slayer boss room. Seriously

I wish they would have clarified that the new enemy placements and such only affected new game systems. I bought the game for PS3 and it seems the only change I noticed was the dlc were included

Do note that if SOTFS is bought on the Xbox 360 or ps3, the new enemies are nothe present. This only effects the Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions.

SOTFS is worth it. Unlike the original game, it adds more enemies and challenges, and makes the game an overall better experience.

Its for the best. Sotfs provides better enemy placement, better new game plus experience, and is an overall upgrade from the original. Not to mention the addition ending you can choose. Its worth it for the price right now for sure.

I added the Watchdragon Parma on "New Item Effects" and edited the page to add the effect (as anonymous). Watchdragon Parma, after patch 1.10, increases item discovery when equipped, but I don't know how many. I don't know if it stacks with other "increase item discovery" items.

Probably obvious by now but those changes only apply to PS4, Xbox 1, and whatever the PC thing is.

The changes in enemy/item placement were only implemented on SotFS for PS4, Xbox One and PC. PS3 and Xbox 360 are only game+DLC's. So if you have either PS3 or Xbox 360 thats why you don't get more changes.

Fightincowboy might help you. But I haven't come across a full detailed 100 percent walkthrough even though they say they are
These guys are just going off what they learned from the original

So... I got this for the PS4.
I played every Dark Souls, except the DLCs for DkS2. And damn this version of the game broke me. I don't know why, but this feels like the hardest Dark Souls I ever played. Did SL1 runs in the first one, DkS3 felt pretty easy. But this one... sheesh.

I 100% agree that this is harder then DS3 and DS. I have heard that they made it a lot harder then the original DS2. I got it a few days ago and am still working on my first play through. You're definitely punished for being greedy much more in this game compared to DS3.

yeah it's *****in hard than the other 2 games. in ds3-ds1 it's very rarely dying in normal enemies areas rather than boss fight. so many kept dying on boss fight but DS2 just brought you hard noraml enemies areas and laos bosses. and this is why it's the best co-op game of entire ds series

I played Ds2 original with DLCs, and the SotFS is easier than the original version
