probably a combo of it being easily spammable with r1, innate magic damage which is highly useful on or offline in the game at least, stupidly high counter damage, staggering even heavy armor users with stone ring on thanks to spamability, usual drop from common enemies making it an easy farm, pierce damage being op as **** (see great lance and rampart golem lance) and r2 can hit with both the projectile and the actual sword for a guaranteed kill usually

oh and look at the engraved gauntlets page and you'll see why this weapon was a mistake

I did testing myself! Magic Infusion buffs the Special R2 Projectile from 376 to 542! Crystal Magic Weapon allows the R2 to do 643! Every other infusion does the same exact damage as an unenchanted Ice Rapier for the Special R2 Projectile, 376. It will do more damage after an enemy attacks thanks to its counter damage and the Old Leo ring! Not bad for a generic weapon you find off a mob lol

Does Magic or Enchanted infusion do more damage with the Projectile Heavy attack?

Do you prefer higher counter damage or better range? Yes.
