if you kill brador before simons quest is initiated, does he still die? seems kinda weird if he does

"Pitiful, really"Seems Simon will die either way. Its disappointing considering in Dark Souls 1 they factored in the loophole that saves Solaire and even went as far as to give his quest line an alternate ending if you stumble upon the loophole

And how you do that?

You can't kill Brador before he mortally wounds Simon. The only way to get the key to Brador's cell to kill him is by getting it from the mortally wounded Simon. So no matter what, Simon will die.

As for Solaire I have another explanation. They just didn't finish the alternative questline for him and came up instead with this loophole to at least give us something to work with. DS1 is, as great as it might be, still a very unpolished game. Not nearly as great as DS3 when it comes to this matter.

To the ones saying how, go grab the key, kill Brador, then tell Simon you have an interest.

If you kill Simon at the lighthouse instead of talking to him, he will drop his bowblade and the key, so if you wanna be cruel you can attack him when hes wounded and he will die easily and you'll still get the key.How do I know this? Well, You see those cannonballs outside the lighthouse hut? I decided to hit them to see if that did anything...my weapon clipped through the wall and hit 'something' - then it said I got Simons Bowblade and that key...I was like "Huh? Oh Snap!" I ran into the hut and see his dead body. WHOOPS

My Simon got killed through the wall in a similar way. I ran straight up the hill and the fish giant outside went ape***** against the wall trying to get me. It killed Simon before I could talk to him.

Omg I just missattacked to him. After that I killed him because he's automatically get hostile of me. Should I regret? :D

No. You still get everything he would have given you had you completed his quest. You just have to find the key where he would be at the end of his quest.

So there are no repercussions to attacking him as soon as you meet him? You still get the Bowblade and later the key.

To my understanding that's how all of the side quests work in bloodborne. If you actually finish the quest, those items are sometimes discounted. If you kill them, the only thing you're really missing out on is emotes if you're into that

I ran past the shark giant and think that I accidentally killed him upon entering the hut. That or the shark giant hit him through the wall. RIP harrowed hunter... lol

If I kill Simon early can I still get his armor set?
By Anonymous
#15999995
no, just the bowblade. you have to do his quest to get the set

Other person is wrong, his set is a set drop at a location(see the harrowed set's page here on the site)

Second person is correct, first is wrong. Set is found on a corpse in a house in the Fishing Hamlet.

I didn't talk to him because I missed the door, so I finished the dlc killing the final boss ...now I went back and opened the door but I didn't find him there...someone can tell me if I lost him forever or he is somewhere else?

Yeah you missed his questline, and probably had fun with Brador lol. Will have to do it again in NG+.

That's a pretty neat parallel, except for the part where he dies.
