Yeah, Augur is pretty much always up on my list now. Many larger enemies can be easily chain-backstabbed by using this, dodging forward and hitting them with a VA, then timing it right as they stand back up again. Even Orphan of Kos was vulnerable to this strategy. Definitely one of the best Hunter Tools now...my personal preferences are this, Beast Roar, and Accursed Brew (The latter is good for raw damage with a high Arcane stat...it throws like a molotov and is very bullet efficient.)

300 dmg somewhat consistely with 99 arcane,obviously i just leveled that up for testing purposes,i can conclude that 50 is the hard cap but you still gain a little after that.

i'm mostly a healing church one (ludwig's holy blade) but i also use this a lot. so i'm kind of in between.

In PvP it seems to do very little damage (60 is the highest I've seen) but it does induce a knockdown on opponents.

Just out of curiosity for those saying the damage is high, how high is your arcane stat? I started with a Strength/Skill build but since hitting level 150 I've been trying to level up arcane so I can use all of the various items. Right now I am at 34 for arcane and I am averaging 150 damage against enemies in the Pthumeru Ihyll chalice, where as my Hunter Pistol +9 averages 200 (Blood/18) and my Ludwig +10 is landing hits in the 700-1400 scale (Strength/50, Skill/40) I am just curious how high an arcane level you have to have before you actually see decent results, because right now damage per QS is significantly lower than most of my fire arms...

After 50 is the soft cap so...I wouldn't go past that.

With 50 arcane it does 253 to the majority of non resistnt enemies,around 280 at 70 arcane,when i reach 99 i´ll post it...

It does more damage than a Greatsword Ludwig R1 on an arcane build. It also uses no stamina, allowing for stunlocks and for your stamina to come back. R1, R1, R1, R1, Ebrietas, R1, R1.

I got a good chuckle out of that one, shame that it had to go. But it was for the better I suppose.
