= man mode after struggling with this bastard I just said fk it and tried to parry him then I realised its extremely easy since he is so ***** aggresive, you can just let him walk to you, press parry, and then riposte him repeat a few times and he's dead it was so easy I laughed at the end for being afraid of trying this (I usually suck at parries, but this guy is really predictable)

If you learn his moves and try to fight him honorably, it's fun as hell. The key is to play defense when he has his pistol out. Stick and move, don't go for combos or you will def get parried. When he switches to blood mode, wail on him or go for parries. If you riposte, go for a jumping attack just as he's getting up for a free hit. Beware trying to run up and land hits on him when he has his gun out and activates OHB because he likes to dodge behind you and shoot you at close range, which takes half of your health easily. Always let him go for the first hit until OHB wears off. Towards the end he'll start throwing numbing mists, which is an easy dodge and counter. Take full advantage when he switches to blood mode and try to deal as much damage as possible; his gun is a nightmare.

After losing to him, like, 10 times, i decided to cheese this mother*****er down. General info: lv 50, STR: 25, weapon: Kirkhammer. What to do: - enter the cathedral and reach him, then bait him to the entrance's stairs - mantain a medium distance and be ready to dodge: if he "rolls" he will usually shoot and dealing you a ton of damage. Also, if he charges an attack, it's instadeath, so don take that hit. - you want him to be in tricked mode, losing health: mantain a medium distance, so he will mantain the tricked mode - when he will lose more than 40% health, he will heal (don't worry, he heals only one time) - repeat the process - now eh's 40-30% health, he won't go in tricked mode anymore - wait for him to walk in your direction slowly: when he does that, full charge R2 with Kirkhammer, than dodge away. 5-10 mins needed, pretty safe, good luck

The use of Beast Roar made the fight extremely easy. Up close it will knock him flat on his back allowing for a charged attack. I was able to do this ~4 times and bested him.

I found a way that I glitched this guy I don't know how I did it but I got them down towards the doors and I slowly walked back having him follow me through the doors there's an invisible wall blocking him from exiting the grand cathedral so what I did was I went to the right wa I don't know how I did it but I got them down towards the doors and I slowly walked back having him follow me through the doors there's an invisible wall blocking him from exiting the grand cathedral so what I did was I went to the left wall pulled up my burial blade and started charge attacking him and he dodge back and got caught in between the door in the wall and I continue doing that until he died but before that what I did was whenever he pulled out his chucage transform with the blood all over the blade I walked outside and waited for him to transfor back to normal and after that he died

After a few very quick deaths I tried to use a few hunter items I normally don't bother with. A few deaths after that I decided to try using the Augur of Ebrietas with Ludwigs Holy Blade. I found the way that worked best for me was to pull back to the stairs, keep well out of reach of the sword and be very careful about that handgun. I suffered more deaths from the handgun than anything else. Wait for him to attack with the sword and dodge as needed. I found greater success dodging backward and attacking with the Augur afterword. This should knock him down for a free hit, so hit him once and back off to avoid his counter and repeat. Ludwigs in the greatsword form should stun him, so use that time to back off. If he transforms his sword, try not to engage him straight away. Let the poison chip away at him a bit. As always with this game practice makes perfect. Learn his moves, knock him down with the auger, hit him, move back to avoid any counter and be very careful of the his gun attack. Admittedly it might not be the "Honorable" way of fighting but quite frankly any tactic should be considered when he can kill you very swiftly. As long as you can survive a hit from the handgun you can pull back and heal. The sword attacks are much easier to deal with. I was level 70ish when I did this, but I would imagine lower levels can do this as well. I hope this helps somebody.

Best strategy i came up is to use a weapon that can stagger him. Lure him to a corner where he cannot escape your attacks. Wait for him to trick his chikage and start attacking with full combos. Once you drain your stamina, use beast roar to trip him over. Rince and repeat.

Not sure of this has been said, but I found a way to de-aggro whilst behind him. If you get him to follow you, and sprint back to BEHIND where he idles, AND hide behind one of the wall protrusions, he should de-aggro and walk back to wait for you. Just simply charge and visceral, and repeat.

Good stuff! I finally beat him this way. You don't even have to wait for him to two hand his weapon. As soon as he starts running towards you, head for the stairs. When he gets close, just sprint back behind the last pillar and he will walk back to in front of the lamp. A few backstabs and he was dead!

I can confirm that this works. I thought he was going to see me, but he really does just turn around and forget you're there. He only heals once during the battle, so he will heal after you get him low on health, then you'll eventually kill him.

Me too. He was stuck in the doorway and I just took cautious jumping attacks.
