Did some cleaning up on the page, and I'm hoping I got the numbers right. Personally I think this firearm is cool, but one thing I regret is that I couldn't find any information on the "twist draw" that I was talking about earlier. Might have to hit up a bookstore regarding famous gun duels if I ever want to verify this (look down on the comments section to figure out what I'm talking about).

Is there any way to open up more rune slots on the evelyn? I feel like I've been wasting my blood chunks trying to upgrade it.

Yeah, tell that to the Repeating Pistol. I've seen it do upwards of 900 damage on the right build (and bone marrow ash of course).

^ Yes, you are right. I always tell that to people who think the Repeating Pistol does more damage. 2 shots with Evelyn does more damage than one shot with Repeating Pistol, because RP shoots 2 bullets at once, so it's actually doing half damage per bullet.

No, guns get one and only one rune slot, which can be a droplet gem or circle gem. BUT, with high Bloodtinge Evelyn's damage will clear 200 by +8, by +10 you're looking at 300 blood damage a shot, that's 700 with Bone Marrow Ash, but you'll need 30 bloodtinge or higher. I'd recommend using the unique Damp Bloodtinge Gem in Mergo's Loft. 21% more damage, making it the strongest firearm second only to the Cannon.

Evelyn also gives you double the amount of chances to parry, where-as RP only gives half.

This weapon is completely useless in PvE, it misses every single target less than a mile away from you. If you got Evelyn for anything other than PvP, you wasted your time.

To add, I am not sure why but in a chalice dungeon I'm in right now I have a hunter enemy that I can easily recreate the shot missing 75% of the time even though he doesn't dodge and he is right in front of me. Either shoots through him and doesn't register or shoots way off in the middle of nowhere.

what? are you serious? I've used this gun to take out so many bosses and enemies. as far as I can tell it has the same range as the other pistols in the game. it's such a clutch weapon. at +10 with 40 Bloodtinge and a good bloodtinge gem it tears enemies up. add some BMA for massive damage. i guess i always use it in lock on range, so i've never had a problem with it not hitting my targets, unless they are dodging.

I have to agree I find it weak for some PVE situations. If the boss has a huge hit box its fine, however for some reason it occasionally just shoots off into no where when shooting smaller enemies. Many many times i've had an enemy walking straight toward me, initiate an attack, I try to parry and the bullet shoots way off to the side. It may have to do something with uneven ground and elevation.

You are n actual moron if you think its not viable in pve. It hits hard, and the whole missing shots is on your part. The gun is fine.

I compared Hunter Pistol vs Evelyn: trajectory, angle from which it is fired and disrance from which the bullet "starts" to fly. There is a significant difference: I compared by standing in Hunter's Dream looking at the 'ash lake trees' and shooting at them (not moving the camera and switching guns): 1. Eve shoots from the left diagonally in avery slight arc. while HP fires totally straight and centered. While I 'hit' the tree sith HP, Eve missed it by a few pixels. 2 +3 Eve misses quite often at point blank range, that's its biggest disadantage compared to HP, making it less reliable at parries than the HP: HP shoots from the waist directly into the center, making even 0 ft. Shots a 100% hit. Evelyn is LONGER so the bullet may start flying after the target and bypass it entirely. Futher Eve tends to miss at close range, especially vs thin slender enemies (slender zombie in Chalice) since it fires in an arc from the left - passing beyond. While HP fires directly in the stomach of foes. I still use Eve but I can confirm it miss more often due to arc, angle and trajectory.

Here's a fun tidbit that I didn't want to include in the trivia because I'm still trying to verify some concepts: the Evelyn's firing is based on a real life duelist shot called a "twist draw." Back in the day, when 1v1 gun duels were common, there were many different techniques that were created to more quickly put the opponent down. It was discovered that, when a gun was holstered in a certain angle and quickly whipped out (by literately just twisting your wrist with the gun rather than bringing it out full weaver/isosceles), you could shave a second or two off in regards to shooting an opponent. The catch was that it came at the sacrfice of accuracy and precision, so you had to train very hard in order to make this form of quickdraw work out for you.
The Evelyn looks like it draws inspiration from this particular quickdraw, although it wouldn't have been done with such a long barrel, but then again you wouldn't consistently hit the same exact spot on a wall standing still 20 shots in a row, so I suppose some creative liberties can be taken here.
If you guys are interested, look up a manga called "Peace Maker." There's alot of fiction involved, but there are some quickdraw techniques that are shown in the manga that reflect real life stances somewhat well.

Hey guys, i noticed that in the evelyn information there wasn't a number for the required echos needed to get the evelyn to +10. I just recently needed to upgrade one to max level so ill post the requirements here since I dont know how to add stuff to the wiki. +1 380 +2 440 +3 520 +4 580 +5 640 +6 700 +7 760 +8 840 +9 900 +10 960 That's a total of 6720 blood echoes required to get it to max level.
