what happens if first talk to patches with the door locked, then kill amygdala before unlocking the second floor of lecture building ? do i get to speak with him again ? what about the rune and the gesture ?

I killed amygdala before the one reborn. Then, I killed the one reborn and went to Patches. He still gave me both the gesture and the rune, admitting that I was meant to be an offer for the Amygdala.

was exploring the lecture hall second floor and saw a ladder. as I climbed down I saw a freaky spider ready to sneak attack me, so I ran up and slaughtered it. he was all like "uncharitably done sir" lol didn't even know it was him till I came here to check what I had done. hopefully Im not going to miss out on anything too important.

Old Yahrnam, beneath the Church Workshop, once through the double doors he/she is in the building immediately to the right.

It's not in Old Yharnam, rather it's at the base of the Upper Cathedral tower you carefully navigate downwards (and coincidently find the original workshop that the dream was based on). After killing the Beast-Possesed Soul, you open a pair of doors and in the alley to your immediate right is a citizen who is laughing manically. Although I've never actually tested if someone is still there when the blood moon hits, I'll have to do a bit of exploring later tonight...

I had a bug happen just an hour or so ago where i knocked him off the rock in the nightmare frontier. When I went to grab the item on the edge of the cliff the cutscene played and i was pushed off. The worst part was i didn't even approach the item on the cliff till i saw him die in the chasm.

Yeah, I've had this same bug twice. It's very frustrating.

"It is possible that Patches is referencing Christianity when speaking of the Godhead" Err probably not. It seems the Godhead Patches is referring to is Amygdala which is the god he worships. Strange isn't it? This has been the only game where Patches has served a god. In the Souls series he was a "flat earth atheist" and anti religious lol.

Hopefully he returns in Dark Souls 3.

Also the cited "Sayings of Jesus" this comes from is Gnostic, not Christian.
