It won't get you better gems, it just increases the chance of them dropping chunks, rocks, etc.

To clarify, by "set item" I mean it will always drop a particular item, not necessarily an item belonging to a set.

The reason form this question is should i use the runes while farming for gems from bosses? The gem always drops so if it just increase quantity then there is no point?

Depends. If the boss is always going to drop a set gem, then no. It won't help you. However, if you're say, farming for blood rocks from chalice bosses, then yes. It would help.

You can get the +50 or +70 ones in the main game without going online (+70 is much easier, just make sure you "talk" to Master Willem first so you can get some insight from him).

Is it absolutely necessary to make an offering to get the Eye Rune to show up in a treasure chest? Because I've been going through Isz Root dungeons for weeks now, and that ***** place absolutely refuses to cough up that ***** rune. And I mean literally dozens of times! It wasn't until I tried the Sinister Isz Root dungeons that it finally gave me the Lost Threaded Cane, after weeks and weeks of dungeon crawling. But it has so adamantly refused to give me that Eye Rune, I'm almost convinced the game is glitched and mistakenly thinks I already have it. I've managed to get every other Uncanny and Lost weapon and all the other runes from all the other dungeons, and I've gone through various Isz root dungeons at LEAST a hundred times. But still, no Eye Rune. Plus I'm not paying for online stuff, so I can't use glyphs.

Yes it is neccessary, also wiki has it wrong, it's not the rotten offering that make the eye rune appear it's the cursed offerings wich is 3 bastards of Loran. That will get you the right chalice and eye rune. This wiki is wrong

When I type in that glyph code it simply says that I don't meet the requirements for this dungeon despite the fact that I've made an Isz root dungeon before. Anyone know why this is happening?

i have just had the same issue as the description was not clear that you had to put in the offerings and now i have to farm for the materials again as i made the root chalice without selecting them, so it took my items

It's a rotten root chalice, u must use the rotten added stuff to b aloud 2 use the glyph (I had the same problem)

Edit: Layer 4 has a Deep Sea +300 Rune. You can break that chest thats blocking the doorway by hitting it multiple times

No matter how high your item discovery is, you will only get one blood rock from each type of these level 5 root dungeons: pthumeru ihyll, ailing loran and isz. If you find an isz glyph online and use that to get a blood rock then no matter how many times you make a root isz dungeon you will not get another blood rock. If you ever open a chest (usually the big coffins) in a chalice dungeon and you pick up a great one's wisdom that means that you already have the item that should be in that chest, like an uncanny weapon, rune or a blood rock.

^false. You can get blood rocks to drop from chalice bosses. I've gotten one from loran darkbeast and I've seen drops from ebrietas and yharnam. However, I'm not sure if discovery improves the chance to receive one.

so if you wanna get the eye rune you have to get the cursed version of the chalice dungeon not the rotted one. whoever made this wiki is a dumbass. you'll need 3 bastards of Loran to do this,, they can be Vaught at hunters dream for 7 insight a piece. then you can get the eye rune.

Untrue. I used the rotted glyph on this page (ji7y3vu8) and found it inside. The requirement may be to have a depth 5 dungeon, or perhaps a depth 5 dungeon + at least one rite. Whatever it is, the user who wrote that section is at least partially accurate and not a dumbass.

By the way the trivia is wrong its not an elder sign its a pentacle the elder sign was drawn once by hp lovecraft and it was represented as a branch whit 2 smaller branches on one side and 3 on the other the eye in a star only appeared as "fanfiction" lather while other writhers based there stories on is univers

To use the glyph, do you need to apply any other effects aside from rotted? Also, does anyone know if the sinister chalice will work just as easily? I'm asking because I really don't want to have to farm materials for a third time.

Well if you want to have EVERY dungeon in the game I had all offering and the glyphs still worked for stuff that is only rotted.I hope you will have the same luck
