you have to aquire a certain item from a boss in the next area. Afterwards you can give it to the little lord on the throne and he can forge/create these weapons

At Firelink Shrine (Don't know when he appears, perhaps after Vordt of the Boreal Valley is slain) an old legless man will suddenly be sitting upon one of the empty thrones. Go up and talk to him and he will sell you a Boss weapon for a special item (Can't recall the name, but you get it from the Giant Tree boss later). Trade the item with him and you can purchase a Boss Soul weapon for 0 souls(Perhaps only for the first time, i do no know).

Ludleth is the guy's name in the throne and he's there from when you first arrive at Firelink Shrine.

"you can purchase a Boss Soul weapon for 0 souls(Perhaps only for the first time, i do no know)."You pay with the boss soul, the "money soul" cost is usually low, but you still need to trade in the soul. You can see which soul it uses at the top of the menu when hovering an item.

Appears after you kill the cursed tree boss. You get the transposition kiln and you are then able to convert boss souls into items.

Ludleth is sitting on his throne before you even get to Firelink. He's there the entire time. He tells you about the Kiln.

"Soul Transposition in Dark Souls 3 is the process of converting a Boss Soul into a Weapon, or Ring. In order to create items you must have the specific Boss Soul, you must have the Transposing Kiln which drops from Curse-Rotted Greatwood, and you must speak with Ludleth of Courland in Firelink Shrine." - Found on the "Soul Transposition" page on this wiki (darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Soul+Transposition)

This great hammer is amazing. Causes my invaders to lose stamina quickly and has a pretty decent moves etc 1 handing or 2 handing it. It can be a little slow but that is why you need to be patient.

I wouldn't count on the frost effect, the weapon doesn't hit fast enough to accumulate any significant amount of frost. It is also completely eclipsed by the Greataxe.

Vordt's Great Hammer is an amazing weapon that not only excels in damage but reach. long forward sweeping attacks can keep two summons at bay during invasions and quick transitions between attacks allow you to output awesome damage on hosts and bosses. Due to the hammers size i found i could stagger certain bosses multiple times during fights allowing me to get off multiple strikes which in turn would chunk their health bar. This applys to invasions as well, as long as they weren't running Havel Greatsheild builds, staggering was a breeze. it is a little difficult when dealing with multiple summons, however i still have found im able to post up 2 or 3 summons with one full combo. All around a BEAST of a weapon. 10/10 would build again.

Yes you can 100% complete the game with the use of Vordt's Great Hammer, however some bosses are going to be a little tricky. What I mean by that is, any boss that requires high evasion tactics (Pointiff Sulyvan, Nameless King, etc.) will be a little difficult as VGH requires a considerable amount of Stamina to swing. This has an easy fix though, just run the Chloranthy Ring (Increased stamina regen) and The Grass Crest Shield (More stamina regen) so that stamina is no longer an issue. As well try and time your rolls accordingly so that your not spamming rolls and wasting stamina.Hope this helps!

EDIT: i've found that VGH's shine wears off in the late game when it comes to bosses such as the nameless king and pvp. it is being outclassed by weapons found later in the game such as the Dragonslayers Greataxe and the Fume Ultra Greatsword
. As well pvp meta (at this time of posting) is more centered towards bleed builds and faster swinging strength weapons meaning your going to have a difficult time with this weapon against smarter phantoms. However this doesn't mean its now useless. VGH still strongly excels in the early game combat, but keep in mind it will fall off around the end of your first playthrough (after Twin Prince's of Lothric fight) and will struggle against late game weaponry. @Chilled Appreciate the input mate, though I'll probably try to pick this thing up. I love using the non-meta / OP weapons, like Demon Fists and Warpick. Feels like you actually won through skill instead of relying on cheap Washing Pole spam or Carthus Cancer spam, not to mention the Casualslayer's Greataxe.

It's a shame it's so hard to apply frost to people in PvP with this weapon. Still like it though!

Frost does not need to apply 100 percent to be effective, it affects their roll speed and stamina regen even if it hits them once. The build up just causes a bulk bleed effect but the frost damage is about slowing people down.

First you have to reach the Undead Settlement and beat the Curse-Rotted Greatwood. Once that's done, just talk to Ludleth on the second throne at Firelink.

Not wrong, because you need to murder the fat tree to get the transposing kiln that allows you to get this from Ludleth using Vordt's soul (if you held onto it)
