Don't you worry your pretty little head none. It's still as much of a monster as it was in DkS. Appropriate rings, like fire cutch and Loyce Sword ring make this thing hit like two trucks at the same time

Lloyd* BTW Loyce was the best part in DS2 and the Loyce GS when 2 handed was the best pvp sword of the game, makes me angry it wasn't included in ds3

is it actually a decent strenght weapon? many strenght weapon just have a *****ty moveset which makes them kind of useless in PVP, but it does not have bad scalings, what bothers me kind of is just the faith and intelligence requirements for it

At max this weapon has a B/E/D/D weapon scaling. With 30 Str 9 Dex 25 Int and 25 Faith with a fire clutch ring equipped it has 770+ Attack Rating. (Can't remember the exact Attack rating because I've respected to try other builds since then.) I used Ring of steel protection to counter act the dmg absorption increase from fire clutch. My other two rings were Sages Ring and Witch's Ring, which do not effect this weapon. I used it through my entire 1st game play through and it does work. The weapon art gives you increased poise and catches alot of people off gaurd since it has such a large AOE. Hope this helps.

spit damage doesnt affect this weapon that much and yhorms machete isn't guaranteed the 2 hit combo making this better

Don't just look at the AR of the weapon. Its damage is split, meaning it will have to pass through both the regular def and fire def, making it deal around 400-380 damage per swing. If you are a dedicated str build, you might as well use Yhorm's machete which will deal 450 on average since it only has to pass through one def stat instead of 2.This thing might work on some hybrid Str/Pyro builds because of its fire scaling.

I was doing group PvP and this thing is ruthless. Especially when your friend is getting jumped and you use the WA. In single matches it's good but in group matches it's amazing. If you're lucky enough to hit someone with the axe itself AND the explosion it can one shot a lot of people.

It is OP & really fun to use, please don't nerf this weapon. I usually get 2-3 hit kills with just 1 use of my stamina bar because it does drain stamina. 1 hit kills usully against phantoms as well with R2 and if your stats are right. Go demon great axe, go!

I'm with you. With 40 str and 25/25 int/fth it does nearly 800AR +fire clutch. Tried out the Chaos Astora GS but this thing hits harder and is more Stam effecient

Second highest AR in my weapon pool with my stats 53/51/52/30 best is dga but only 5 points difference tw i have mostly every weapon except dragonhatchet and maybe one or two covenant weapons

anon from may 24th is right, it'd be chaos flame not profaned flame. The demon axe is obtained via a demon soul, demons were born of the chaos flame and die with the chaos flame.

This thing is okay and fair doesn't really need a buff or nerf. Damage is average, stamina consumption and poise are average. The range is rather poor however
