You'll be happy to know that this really, really bad weapon is now in the list of Weapons with high Affinity. The page's pictures even feature this really, really bad weapon!

So, let’s just say I have a -30% affinity weapon and level 3 maximum might (30% affinity boost when stamina is full) would that mean maximum might negates the negative crit chance when stamina is full? And if so, could you also add weakness exploit on top of that to create a positive crit chance?

Yes and yes. When your Stamina is full, then you would never deal a blunder and never deal a crit (0% Affinity). If Stamina is full and you hit a weak point with full W.E. then you would deal a crit half the time. Think of Affinity as a point on a number line; changes in Affinity simply move that point up or down the line.

is affinity static? as in if a weapon has -10% affinity, does that always remain on the weapon or will the magnitude decrease as i use that weapon more often?

no, it's literally a fixed 'critical' chance on a weapon - only armor skills and the weapon itself impact it. there is no 'experience' system.
