Can we start scaling this back a bit maybe? Getting a little heated.

We don't have a problem with the political messages existing. We don't have a problem admitting that the political messages are meant to reflect real-world situations, or that the creators use them to push their own personal messages.

We have a problem that it wasn't implemented into the story smoothly or naturally enough. If they'd found a way to make their message feel less forced, then there would be quite literally no problems to be had. We only have a problem because the message came at the expense of the story, rather than as a result of it.

Currently I'm enjoying Restaurant to Another World and Elegant Yoki Apartment Life. I love cooking, so the food-porn aspect of Restaurant does appeal to me. Plus its nice. Sometimes I just want to watch something that's nice without any drama. Yoki Apartment is an odd one, probably why I like it.

Haven't tried Yoki Apartment yet, been kind of conservative with trying new shows this season because my time is more limited due to a long-running..."project" I'm trying to finally finish (watching all of Naruto: Shipuuden but skipping the filler). When I get more time I'll try it out though. I HAVE gotten to see Restaurant to Another World, and it seems like a really nice SoL show.

Other than that, what I HAVE been able to start this season so far is Welcome to the Ballroom and Nana Maru San Batsu (I forget the English name, but it's the Quiz show). Both seem to be setting up to be pretty interesting versions of a "sports" shounen.

The day I get unlimited high speed internet is the day I go on a long overdue anime binge. I'm just gonna plow into every anime I've been saving for later.

Sooooo, I've been watching an anime called Re-Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu. Basically, a boy from Japan is teleported to a fantasy world where a significant political event is occurring that will decide the fate of the kingdom. However, the boy has a special ability where whenever he dies, he restarts back at a certain checkpoint of sorts (how the checkpoints are made, I do not know) with all the memories of what occurred before, though no one else does, and he can't tell anyone he has this power lest his hart be crushed by a shadowy hand. It's kind of like a video game really.

Thing is, while the show started out good, with the mystery of what's going on, and him finding out how to best solve problems with repeated deaths, it's going downhill for me as of episode 13-15 (as far as I've got). Problem is, the MC is turning to F*CKING PIG HEADED LOSER! And not like the typical anime style loser whose pathetic combat/academic wise but lovable and well meaning (he is that way at first), I mean he becomes an arrogant, selfish, obsessive, egotistical, jerk with a hero complex in that he thinks everything revolves around him and only he can save the day, but can't do a damn thing right. What most ticks me off about him is all the mental and emotional breakdowns he has, leading to just pointless *%&^ ups on his part that just burden other people or at the very least make him look foolish. The worst incident for me was when, after seeing all his friends dead, something he's witnessed multiple times now and has recovered easily from, he literally turns into a mental vegetable after dying and resurrecting, leading to his friends GETTING KILLED AGAIN HAVING TO SAVE HIM!

I looked it up, and some people praise this moment as it has powerful emotional impact on the character and the audience, but for me, it just makes the MC look ridiculous, ineffectual, and pathetic.

No, but I've heard about it. Every time the Main male character dies, the timeline resets back to a certain point, but the story is then told from another person's perspective and the events occur differently, correct?

Well I like me a good dark mystery, though ato be honest, I don't care for the art style. I'll check it out.
