Final Fantasy XV’s Upcoming Patch Dated & Detailed, Adds Self Photography Feature

Square Enix has detailed the contents of Final Fantasy XV’s upcoming new patch which will release for players on January 24th, along with the seasonal event, the Moogle Chocobo Carnival.

Holiday Pack+ Updates

Holiday Pack (Free Version) Updates

Self-Photographing Feature Implemented

  • Players can now take pictures outside of battle whenever they choose.

Most of the patch is the enabling of the content that players downloaded with the free Holiday Pack DLC but were not able to access as they were locked until the launch of the carnival. The Holiday Pack + is a special version of the DLC that is available to those who owned the Season Pass for the game and features some extra items and outfits like the Stamina Badge and Key of Prosperity.

The big new feature is the inclusion of free photography mode, which should make for some great moments. Fans of games like Uncharted 4 will tell you how much fun a dedicated in-game photo mode can be for players. The game’s Photography skill that Prompto makes use of is already a hit with players, and is a subtle but impressive bit of tech implementation.

Happy snapping! There’s a lot more to come for Final Fantasy XV, both via DLC and major updates. You can check out Square Enix’s update roadmap for a rundown of everything they plan to implement going forward. Keep checking back with us for more updates!
