Final Fantasy XV Releases New Update, New PS4 Pro Support, Timed Quests, New Level Cap & More

Square Enix has released a new update for Final Fantasy XV that makes a few significant additions to the popular RPG. Read on for the full notes.

Final Fantasy XV Update 1.05 Notes

  • PlayStation 4 Pro console Lite Mode compatibility with a maximum of 60 fps
  • New Timed Quests (limited-time hunts and contests)
  • Higher level cap (up to 120)
  • Increased camera roll capacity (store up to 200 photos)
  • Portable music player for chocobo rides
  • Conclusion of the Moogle Chocobo Carnival
  • Various bug fixes

PS4 Pro owners will be happy for the support now at 60 fps. The timed quests are something Square Enix mentioned in their roadmap for post launch support and are designed to give players a daily reason to check in. The level cap will also come as a welcome increase for players well beyond end game at this point.

Update: It seems the revisions to the PS4 Pro support have resulted in less than stellar performance, specifically inconsistent frame rates. We anticipate an update sometime in the future to address it.

Thoughts on the update? DLC is on the way soon, with Episode Gladiolus coming March 28th and the Booster Pack also sometime soon, as well as more episodes and the Comrades expansion that will introduce 4 person multiplayer later this year. Keep checking back with us for more!
