Final Fantasy XV/Assassin’s Creed Expansion Ending Soon!

For those of you yet to experience this strange and satisfying expansion for Final Fantasy XV, hop to it! The Final Fantasy XV x Assassin’s Creed Expansion will no longer be available after January 31st.

Meet new and interesting Moogles…then kill them?

The entertaining story-based expansion is FREE but it’ll be removed after patch 1.21 goes live on January 31st. Here’s the official description of the event:

“The tales of a mythical hero who fought to resist the shackles of oppression date back generations in Lestallum, where a festival is held in honor of the lore. As an avid fan of the spirit this local legend inspired, Noctis drags his friends along to take part in the festivities, but he also encounters a few unexpected guests.

The Assassin’s Festival will have some additional themed items and features, including another outfit from Assassin’s Creed, along with abilities that enable Noctis to explore more like an Assassin and even use some of the Assassins’ more well-known abilities.”

It’s definitely worthwhile checking out this weird expansion before it’s pulled on the 31st. It’s free.

This is not the first time that we have seen an unusual Final Fantasy crossover. Some of you may remember the Mass Effect costumes that were available in Final Fantasy XIII-2. More of an effort has gone into this crossover event, so it’s worth a look.

No, it really wasn’t just a strange fever dream you had. There really was a Final Fantasy/Mass Effect crossover once. Here’s Noel and Serah in their Mass Effect costumes.

Okay…enough about Assassins! What about the patch?

Here’s a look at what’s to come with patch 1.21:

  • End of the Assassin’s Festival.
  • Various bug fixes.
  • A standby option added to camp.
  • New items at Alessio’s trading post in Altissia.
  • New drills added to the tutorial.
  • A new training partner (Aranea Highwind) at camp.

What odd game crossover event would you like to see? Dark Souls vs Raving Rabbids perhaps? Comment below and let us know!
