Final Fantasy XIV: Update 4.1 - "The Legend Returns" Release Date Announced!

Square Enix recently unveiled the release date of their 4.1 update dubbed, The Legend Returns that is coming to their MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV. They have also shared a set of new screenshots and a new trailer, which you can watch, above.

Final Fantasy XIV – Update 4.1 Announcement!

Square Enix announced that the latest patch will be launching on October 10th, 2017. Below, is a recap of some of the new features players can expect in Update 4.1 for FF XIV.

A new chapter will be added to the main FF XIV story-line. It involves the people of “Ala Mhigo” having to choose what kind of nation they want to build for themselves, under Lyse’s fledgling leadership.
“Return to Ivalice”, a 24-player Final Fantasy XII / Tactics style raid, will be implemented into FF XIV.
A higher difficulty version of the “Shinryu” battle will included, called: Minstrel’s Ballad: Shinryu’s Domain.
The new hosts of the “Beast Tribe Quets” will be the “Kojin”. The red tribe hoards the treasure vault, while the peaceful blue tribe seeks to build their own. It is up to the Warriors of Light to aid them.
Hildibrand and Nashu will be back in a new dedicated quest-line that is set in “Kugane”.
There will be a new Custom Deliveries provider implemented, and this time it’s the charming miqote M’naago, who is striving to raise funds for the orphans and widows of the Resistance.

Furthermore, a new feature called, “Rival Wings” will be added to the PvP, and it’s described as:

“On the forgotten fringes of the Dravanian Hinterlands, there lie the remnants of a Sharlayan testing site known as Astragalos. With their boundless ingenuity, the goblins of Idyllshire have transformed the place into an expansive training ground. Here, brave adventurers can take control of mighty machines in large-scale war games reminiscent of battles against the Garlean Empire. A furious struggle for territorial supremacy awaits!”
