After finishing Fallout 4, are you still not ready to leave the Wasteland behind yet? In that case, you may want to consider pre-ordering Fallout: Wasteland Warfare.
Fallout: Wasteland Warfare by Modiphius Entertainment
Fallout: Wasteland Warfare is a tabletop war game made by Modiphius Entertainment. We featured the game on this site when it was initially announced. Well, now you can pre-order it. And we advise that you do. It’s bound to be popular. The game’s miniatures are available in resin or PVC and they look great. One interesting facet of Fallout: Wasteland Warfare is the number of game modes. There are four play modes: standard (versus) play, a narrative campaign arc, solo play against AI, and co-op play against AI. I love the addition of a solo play mode. It’s a step up from Solitaire.
Standard, solo, and co-op play will involve players choosing a faction force according to a Caps total, or choosing units based on a pre-made scenario. Caps are also used to buy more characters to fill out your crew, as well as purchasing equipment and weapon upgrades, consumables and settlement resources (which give bonuses during your game).
The narrative play concept tries “to have a more story driven series of scenarios,” said Publishing Director Chris Birch. “In the narrative missions what you achieve will have an effect on the next mission, a player’s forces will gradually increase in size and resources, you’ll get access to new options and so on.”
And if you want to play a smaller scale game, with the narrative missions you can. Birch says “you can just take 3 or 4 characters and take them on a narrative based mission in the wasteland [sic] vs random creatures or an AI force so I think it will scratch the itch of a lot of people looking for small or large scale gaming in the Wasteland.”
Fallout: Wasteland Warfare is now available to pre-order
Fallout: Wasteland Warfare‘s troops and the campaign are initially based upon Fallout 4. Future expansions will focus on other Fallout game locations and units, starting with Fallout 3. Fallout: New Vegas units are also planned.
Fallout: Wasteland Warfare is now available to pre-order. Orders from March 2nd will ship from early June. To get started, you’ll need the 2 player starter set, which is available in pre-asssembled PVC or resin. In addition to pre-ordering from Modiphius Entertainment directly, many independent game retailers are also taking pre-orders. Click the link to find your local retailer.
So, which character would you like to see make the jump to Fallout: Wasteland Warfare? I’d love to see the Legionaries from Fallout: New Vegas. Will they find a way to include Mr House?
