Bethesda admits to a rocky start for online survival game Fallout 76, but with continuing improvements and additions, the developer says its “more stable and more fun than ever before”.
Fallout 76 Now “Bigger, More Stable and More Fun…” Says Bethesda
The launch of Fallout 76 was met with great criticism from the gaming community, with quite a bare experience even for a post-apocalyptic setting. However, Bethesda Game Studios says although there have been some “rocky times this year” it’s now “bigger, more stable, and more fun than ever before.”
Bethesda has already announced plans this year to add a new vault, set to unleash human NPCs on the Appalachia which was something that was missing since Fallout 76’s launch. The free Wastelanders update, which was originally set to release this year, has been delayed to early 2020. The game also saw new free updates which included a new PvP orientated survival mode and the battle royale mode Nuclear Winter. In October Fallout 76 launched paid private servers with Fallout 1st, allowing players to set up their own worlds.
2019 was just the beginning, and our biggest update [Wastelanders] is still yet to come. The truth is that this Fall, we all thought we’d be playing Wastelanders together, making new friends and enemies with NPCs. It was a difficult decision to delay to 2020, but it was the right one for the game, and for everyone who plays. We’ll have a better, more polished game next year as a result, one that will take us on new adventures together.
But Wastelanders is not the only plan in terms of new content, Bethesda hints that more will be coming in future.
We have much more planned even beyond Wastelanders!
