The new DLC pack will feature the following 2 new dungeons for players to take on:

Cradle of Shadows

  • Join the Argonians of the Dark Brotherhood in their battle against a cadre of rogue assassins threatening to hurl all of Black Marsh into bloody chaos. Can you defeat its boss and claim its head as a new monster mask?

Base Game Patch Content

As usual, the DLC will release in conjunction with a base game patch. Ahead of the detailed patch notes, here are the highlighted features the patch will introduce:

  • You can now purchase tokens that will allow you to completely change your appearance, pick a different name, or choose an entirely different race!
  • Hel Ra Citadel, Aetherian Archive, and Dragonstar Arena have been improved. They now feature increased difficulty and provide greater rewards. All items and weapons obtained in these trials have been updated to max level, and Hel Ra Citadel and the Aetherian Archive now feature a Normal and Veteran modes that will scale to your group leader and qualify you for the leaderboards.
  • Text chat for console players!
  • New hairstyles, adornments and body markings that can be purchased in the Crown Store.
  • Cyrodil Town capture: The towns of Cropsford, Vlastarus and Bruma can now be captured! Each town contains three flags to capture and control, one with no guards, one with a few guards, and one that is heavily guarded, similar to district flags in the Imperial City. Capturing a town grants an Alliance another place to respawn from PvP deaths and access to town merchants selling purple-quality gear for Alliance Points.

Some pretty cool changes coming our way, changing appearance and race should make a lot of players excited. Also, text chat on consoles is a huge requested feature so it’s thrilling to see that it’s coming. This will definitely take a lot of strain off of grouping!

We can’t wait to see more of the upcoming DLC and will be sure to bring more updates as we get specific dates and pricing, so keep checking back with us.

  1. I fully expect them to keep releasing DLC until the entire map is filled in. :bounce:

This one… it’s difficult to tell if they’re talking about a new region, or only a couple of new dungeons. And on the subject of changing your race, I vaguely recall them mentioning that they were thinking about making it possible, but it’d only be an appearance thing and wouldn’t affect your racial skills? But seeing the way things have been going so far, I’m thinking racial skill lines will change.

  2. This may sound stupid, but are they adding in another region/province to explore?

There doesn’t seem to be any specific information in the article, just that they’re adding two new dungeons. Though where else would they be located other than a new area? It only makes sense seeing as how they did with the past three DLCs (Wrothgar, Hew’s Bane, and the Gold Coast). I’m assuming it’s going to be Murkmire or whatever they talked about before, or is that something else altogether? I do remember something about it being an Adventure Zone akin to Craglorn. So maybe Murkmire is a different thing entirely?

I dunno, I wish they would give us more information on what they’re planning on doing for the rest of the year. They’ve gotta have more up their sleeve than just one more DLC. Heck, the eastern portion of Tamriel has been virtually untouched since release. And there’s so much possibilites with the Daedric Princes and realms of Oblivion.

I need more Elder Scrolls in my life…
