An Elder Scrolls Online player who horded 40,000 lockpicks has been rewarded by ZeniMax for doing so…with a poster of a lockpick signed by all of the Elder Scrolls Online team.
You can never have too many lockpicks.
40,000 is the maximum amount of any one item that players can own in Elder Scrolls Online. Now that the player has finally saved so many lockpicks, will he start to use them? If so, will he move on to trying to collect 40,000 of another item instead?
“Children, listen as the shadows cross your sleeping hutch, And the village sleeps away, streets emptied of the crowds, And the moons do balefully glare through the nightly clouds, And the graveyard’s people rest, we hope, in eternal sleep, Listen and you’ll hear the whispered tap of the footsteps creep, Then pray you’ll never feel the Worm King’s awful touch.” – Horicles

I personally think that giving the signed poster was a really lovely gesture. It’s not like they had to do so or as if there was any advertisement of such an item being given for collecting 40k of an item.
Did you like this article? If so, you could read Elder Scrolls Online Dragon Bone DLC next. Alternatively, you could read Speculation: Elder Scrolls Setting instead.

It’s a rare development team that cares about its players past the first couple years.
I remember that, in the Fable series, if you had unprotected sex with a prostitute, you caught a venereal disease. There did not appear to be a limit on how many different ones you could catch. I would like to see the poster they could come up with for catching 40,000 STDs.
Would be willing to bet you if I hadn’t deconned mine, I’d have had 15k or so…
