More and more Tarnished will get to experience walking through the Lands Between. Kicking off the Winter Sales is PlayStation and Sony which runs from now up until January 7, 2023.

Elden Ring is just one of the extremely noteworthy titles that got a massive discount. Down from its usual price of $59.99, the basic edition can now be purchased for $41.99. That’s a massive 30% discount, and the first time ever on major digital platforms.
The Elden Ring Sale
Elden Ring is definitely one to look out for. Some would argue that even its base price of $59.99 would be too good a value, let alone the new sale price of $42. We gave the game a 9.5 in our Elden Ring Review back in February. It is definitely one of FromSoftware’s crowning achievements, and it would be difficult to fathom the team making an even better game.

Many found the game to be a cultural phenomenon, one that sparked much discussion, debates, camaraderie (in the form of the helpful player “Let Me Solo Her”), and more. Tons of people who were never even interested in the Soulslike Genre got pulled into it (myself included) due to the hype and curiosity.

Starting out in Limgrave is already a memorable moment, the point where the player steps out of the dreary crypt and into the open world. At a glance, the initial map is not as intimidating as it starts out small. But as you progress, it keeps on expanding and expanding, showing us that we’re truly in for a grand adventure.

Extreme build diversity and less pressure to kill bosses in order were some of the highlights that enticed players. Do you want to play a pure magic caster? Or maybe someone who wields a massive greatsword? Perhaps something in between? All are options and quite viable in the land of Elden Ring.

The title snagged many awards as well in the recent The Game Awards 2022. Aside from Game of the Year, it also received accolades for Art Direction, Best Roleplaying Game, and Best Game Direction. Be sure to also look out for the upcoming Elden Ring Boardgame by Steamforged Games!
Other Noteworthy PlayStation Deals
Here are just some other noteworthy deals that we just had to mention. All of the below are prices from PlayStation’s digital storefront.
Horizon Forbidden West
Horizon Forbidden West was an amazing game that only got a few minutes in the spotlight. Released just a week before the monumental Elden Ring, Forbidden West was an excellent follow-up to Horizon Zero Dawn. Though its performance mode had a rocky start, Guerilla Games supported the title for many months afterward.

The sequel continues Aloy’s journey into the titular Forbidden West. She encounters totally new factions, machines, allies, and enemies. Gameplay has been totally enhanced with new mechanics as well.
The game is currently on sale for just $29.99, a historical low at a 50% discount.
The Last of Us Part II
The Last of Us Part II is a harrowing tale told on many fronts. Without revealing too much, it is a journey of loss, vengeance, and everything in between. While the game’s story can be divisive, it is still an excellent experience in its own right.

This comes right in time as The Last of Us Part I was just recently released and the HBO TV show will be coming in January of 2023. For a mere $9.99, this is a no-brainer.
Diablo Prime Evil Collection
Coming in at an extremely generous price is the Diablo Prime Evil Collection coming in at $19.79, which is a whopping 67% off. This pack includes both Diablo II: Resurrected, and Diablo III: Eternal Collection. At its core, this will essentially mean that players will get at least hundreds of hours of gameplay.

Diablo II: Resurrected is a full remaster of one of the original ARPGs. It supports full 4k resolution and unlocked framerate. The remaster contains the full classic gameplay of the original but enhanced with some quality-of-life additions as well as new items, runewords, and balance changes.
The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: High Isle
One of our favorite MMOs at Fextralife is at a really great price right now! Coming in at a mere $19.79 is the complete collection for The Elder Scrolls Online. This pack is regularly $59.99 and includes the High Isle Chapter as well as everything prior – the base game, Morrowind, Summerset, Elsweyr, Greymoor, and Blackwood.

The High Isle chapter specifically was released just this June and included new companions, trials, and a minigame the Tales of Tribute (whose tutorial NPC was voiced by Billy Boyd).

Players can expect to spend hundreds of hours in Tamriel, especially since the game has no mandatory monthly subscription. An optional one is available via ESO Plus which grants some minor convenience perks.
The DioField Chronicle
One other choice pick we have from the PlayStation winter sale is The DioField Chronicle. The game is a political turn-based JRP that has an exciting and wide cast of characters. It has excellent tactical combat as well as audio design.

The DioField Chronicle was released just this September, but is now on a 50% discount, leaving it at $29.99. Expect to have about 22 to 28 hours of gameplay with this one.
