Dragon’s Crown Pro Coming To The West!

The gorgeous Dragon’s Crown Pro  action-RPG, has just been confirmed by Atlus to be making a Western release in spring of next year.

Dragon’s Crown Pro –  Seeing Western Shores

Dragon’s Crown Pro  will see North America and Europe in spring 2018 for the PlayStation 4 console for a price of $49.99.

This upcoming game is a remaster of the 2013 hit Dragon’s Crown,  a 2D action-RPG set in a medieval realm imbued with fantasy. It featured the signature art direction of Vanillaware, its developer, resulting in beautifully crafted environments, and sprites on characters and enemies.

Gameplay revolves around a 2D side-scrolling affair where players adventure in a party of four, hacking and slashing their way through challenging levels and bosses. Dragon’s Crown Pro  will retain the offline and online co-op, in which up to 3 other players can join and more including:

  • Visuals Fit for an Ancient Dragon – With beautifully refined artwork and 4K resolution support, Vanillaware’s signature art style will come alive as you bludgeon, cleave, shoot, and loot through the dungeons of Hydeland.
  • A Rousing Adventurer’s Soundtrack – A newly recorded soundtrack by fabled composer Hitoshi Sakimoto, supported by a live orchestra, will accompany daring treasure hunters on their search for the Dragon’s Crown.
  • Glorious Presentation – Rejoice because English and Japanese audio options will now be available! Plus, game text will be localized in French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
  • All the Royal Bells and Whistles – If you already own Dragon’s Crown, your saves won’t go to waste. There will be online cross-play & cross-save compatibility with existing PS3 and Vita versions. Oh, and all patches, features, and the Storyteller Voice Pack DLC from the original game will be included!

You can catch a glimpse of some gameplay with its announcement trailer below.

Dragon’s Crown Pro  will launch on PlayStation 4 in spring 2018 for North America and Europe.

  1. I enjoyed it on the PS3, but being a purely 2D game I don’t see the upgrade to PS4 being a big enough deal to get excited over. Maybe if they released it on PC, and at a steep sale price I might get it. I did get the PS4 version of Odin Sphere, but there it was an upgrade from the PS2. I would also prefer a PS4 remaster of Muramasa.
