Dragon Age: Inquisition Trespasser DLC Takes Fans Into The Future

Confirmed at PAX Prime this past weekend, Trespasser will be the final DLC for BioWare’s Dragon Age: Inquisition, with a slated release of September 9th. The 3rd entry in the popular fantasy RPG series has seen several pieces of DLC, all very different in their content from each other. So what can we expect with this expansion? Let’s take a look at a few of its highlights (POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD, will be kept as vague as can be):

  • Trespasser will take place a full 2 years after the events of Inquisition. Framed as an epilogue, the story will focus on the experiences of heroes who no longer have a world to save.
  • Familiar characters will return (including a fan favorite) as well as new people of interest, all involved in exploring the source of a new danger to the world. A rising Qunari threat will confront players with the difficult choices that BioWare’s games are known for.
  • In a way to address the cliffhanger ending of the proper game, Trespasser DLC will give the players an opportunity to more definitively determine the outcomes of the game’s main story. As expected, completion of the main quest will be required for access to the new content.

On the heels of this bit of info, players can also expect a new patch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The patch will feature some new functionality, specifically:

  • The Golden Nug will let you sync your collectibles across games after you’ve completed Dragon Age: Inquisition’s main story. This will be accessed by heading to the Skyhold Undercroft after completing the main story and clicking on the new Golden Nug statue. Once you’ve done that, every game that’s both online and on the same platform will have a similar statue added to the Undercroft and Haven. Clicking on that statue will sync your current game. Any collectibles will be added to the online collection, regardless of where the character is in the game’s progression. This will work for schematics, potion recipes, mounts and Skyhold decorations.
  • New wardrobe options for Skyhold, addressing players’ desires for more variety. Can be accessed via your bedroom, players can expect about a dozen new threads to choose from.

In a game soon approaching a year old, there’s nothing quite like an engaging DLC to breathe new life into the game, tie up some loose ends and set the stage for the future of the franchise. It’s been quite the ride in Thedas, no doubt the final chapter of this entry will be bittersweet for many as it concludes the epic story, yet gives promise of what is to come. We’ll be sure to update this post with more specifics on what to expect when this DLC drops this month. Let us know what you are hoping to see in the comments.
