Diablo IV Developer Reveals Skill Tree, Talents and More

Blizzard has released another quarterly update with details about upcoming Diablo IV, this time revealing skills, talents, screenshots and more.

Diablo 4 Developer Reveals Skill Tree, Talents and More

The latest quarterly update from Blizzard reveals some new details on the upcoming ARPG Diablo IV, which includes skills, talents, Sorceress Enchantment system and more.

An actual Skill Tree was revealed, yes a demonic looking tree with all the Skills and Passives planned for the Sorceress class.. While the image is pre-alpha, this tree looks to be the direction they are going in for the next game. The upper section of the Skills will be reserved for your Skill Points, which be earnt by levelling. This will also lead to Passive Points, which can be spent on the Passive abilities, which seems all straight forward. Square nodes are your active skills, while the diamond shaped gems act as passives.

The roots of tree will be where you find the powerful passives to unlock according to the post. Passives will affect more general character upgrades.

What we also learn is that you won’t be able to acquire every Skill Tree Node, players will need to make choices in which Skills they want to invest in. In terms of how many of those nodes will be unlockable, Blizz aims for 30-40% of what’s available.

The update also shared more about the Sorceress Enchantment System. Sorceress is a bit different from other classes as it has two possible effects. Like other classes Sorceress will have an active skill slot, but also an Enchantment slot. Players will need to choose whether they want an active or Enchantment slot, players will gain a secondary bonus power when choosing Enchantment and lose an active slot. Builds can be based on Enchantments alone, active skills or even a mix of both.

They example they give is the Meteor ability, choosing an Enchantment slot means you won’t get to control where these fall, but they do “fall onto enemies periodically”.

The next class their exploring is the Druid, particularly the class mechanic which they will shares news about in future. The post doesn’t say when but previously BlizzConline was announced, however no details if they will be doing a digital broadcast about Diablo 4.

Previously Blizzard shared more about how multiplayer would work, including big world events and even revealed the world boss Ashava The Pestilent.

Diablo IV hasn’t got a release date as of yet but what we do know is that Diablo 4 will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One as well as the next generation of consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X).
