Diablo Immortal Open Beta Release Date

Diablo Immortal’s floodgates will open on June 2, at 10:00 AM PDT. This release will encompass all three platforms – PC, Android, and iOS. This equates to 1:00 PM EDT, 2:00 PM BRT, 6:00 PM BST. For the eastern regions, this is 2:00 AM for KST and finally 3:00 AM AEST, both June 3. Aussies gotta wake up real early to start slaying demons!

However, the Open Beta will not be open to all regions initially. Southeast Asian countries will have a separate release date on June 22, 2022, instead. The regions included in this separate release are Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macao, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. These countries will also have their own local servers to guarantee the best and smoothest experience ping-wise.

Another important thing to note is that the Open Beta characters will carry all of their progress into the full launch. All microtransactions, paragon levels, items, and more will be retained. It is good to know that there will be no character or server wipes anymore, barring any technical challenges.

Preloading Diablo Immortal

As of writing, only PC players may preload Diablo Immortal onto their computers via the Battle.net application. Applicable regions should see the game immediately under the “Games” menu. A total of 24GB of hard disk space will be required as the PC version will have the Ultra Graphics settings. Ultra settings will not be available on mobile.

Recommended Specifications For PC

Below are the Recommended System Requirements for the best PC experience possible, though the game will work with systems as old as Windows 7.

  • Operating System: Windows® 10 / Windows® 11 (64-bit)
  • CPU: Intel® Core i5 or AMD Ryzen™ 5
  • GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 770 or AMD Radeon™ RX 470
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM

Recommended Specifications for Mobile

Preloading is not yet available for Android and iOS devices. Blizzard mentions that the respective store pages will update on the morning of June 1 and preloading should be available then. Since the graphics will be much simpler on mobile devices, it will only require a total of 13 GB of storage space. This number is quite high though for mobile game standards but is likely worth it due to Diablo Immortal being a AAA game.

Android users will need to be running at least Android 5.0 on a Snapdragon 660/Exynos 9611 CPU with an Adreno 512 or Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. The phone will need at least 2GB of RAM. iOS users have it a bit simpler and will just need to be running at least iOS 11 on an iPhone 6S.

Cross-Progression Integration

Diablo Immortal will have cross-play enabled, meaning you can continue your journey through Sanctuary seamlessly from PC to mobile. However, the game will not have it on by default: users will need to enable it on their end.

The mobile version will not require players to have a Battle.net account. Players can choose to log in as a Guest and progression will be saved on the device itself or in the Cloud services of Google or Apple. To continue their journey on PC, mobile players will need to log in to their Battle.net account and link the two together.

Once logged in to PC, a prompt will ask players whether they have played Diablo Immortal on mobile. If yes, it will link the two services.

Diablo Immortal Regions and Servers

Diablo Immortal will initially launch in 13 different regions, with up to 29 servers for the biggest ones. The divisions will be as follows: North America (West), North America (East), South America (Portuguese), South America (Spanish), Europe (English), Europe (French), Europe (German), Europe (Spanish), Europe (Italian), Europe (Polish), East Asia (Korean), East Asia (Japanese), and Oceania.

Accessibility and Controller Support

Diablo Immortal is being designed first and foremost with accessibility in mind. Players will have a multitude of options when it comes to controlling their heroes. PC in particular can choose whether to have the traditional mouse and keyboard clicks or they can connect one of the many supported controllers.

Everything from Xbox One wired and wireless controllers, to Logitech Gamepads, to even Sony’s Dualshock and DualSense controllers will work out of the box. Android and iOS users will be able to make use of wireless controllers as well, as long as they can connect them to their devices.

Customizable Text

Since the game was also initially supposed to be purely a phone game, communication accessibility has also been prioritized. Chat text size can be increased or decreased as needed. Players can also transcribe their verbal messages into text for their party members to read. Text-to-speech is also available so you can hear what your friends type.

These are just some of the enhancements coming to the accessibility portion of Diablo Immortal.

Return to Sanctuary

Diablo Immortal has come a long way since its initially rocky and lukewarm reception. The game is shaping up to be a worthy successor of the Diablo name and something to keep us busy until Diablo IV rolls around.
