Destiny players are going to be receiving some tokens of loyalty when the new year rolls around. On Bungie’s year end update, community manager DeeJ let on some goodies players can expect to receive when the new year rolls in.
On January 7th, when players log in, they’ll find in their postmaster inboxes (provided they’re freed of space) 15 Strange Coins and 15 Motes of Light. The Motes are always useful in juicing up a quick upgrade on gear, but the real treasure is those rare Strange Coins, which as we know can be exchanged for exotic gear from Xur. Not a bad little gift at all for players to find in their stockings.
The giving isn’t stopping there, players who log in between January 7th and 10th and complete a playable activity will receive a special emblem whose design is yet to be revealed. Another exclusive freebie to reward the active player base and spread the Christmas cheer of jealous coveting.
Sparrow Racing is coming to an end next Tuesday the 29th, and in its place we’ll see the return of the Iron Banner. Playing the mode will give players the opportunity to earn some neat looking endgame gear. Some will be available for purchase from Lord Saladin, and some will be available as loot drops during gameplay. Here’s a preview of the new gear coming:
Sony players also get access to some exclusive gear:
