Destiny Heroic Mode for Rise of Iron Raid Dated, Known Issues Addressed & Xur Location

Bungie has shared an image in their most recent Destiny blog post that strongly intimates an October 18th release date for the Heroic mode of the Rise of Iron raid, called Wrath of the Machine.

Fireteams who have already made a mockery of the raid in normal mode will get what they’re hoping for in just over 10 days. Beyond that, players can anticipate some additional challenges from raid bosses, which will make a boss harder each week in exchange for some even better loot. And loot is what it’s all about is it not? The light level equipment cap for the raid will be 400.

Rise of Iron Known Issues

Additionally they’ve identified some issues with the expansion that are being worked on:

  • The S-39 Lightrider Sparrow is not currently available through Crucible Reputation Packages.
  • Dusty Iron Engrams are incorrectly rewarding Legendary Marks when dismantled.
  • Some players may be unable to reclaim Rise of Iron Crucible Emblems from the Collection in the Tower:
    • Vigilant Disciple
    • Solar Labor
    • Ironwood Alight
    • The New Wolf Pack
  • An additional trophy bug with the Student of History trophy not unlocking can be resolved by following this help article.

Where is Xur?

One last bit of updating, as it relates to Xur. He can be found this weekend by the balcony near the Speaker and is available until Sunday at 9AM GMT, and is now selling Ornaments. Here’s his inventory for the weekend:

  • Legacy Engram (Primary weapon) – 31 Strange Coins
  • Thagomizers (Exotic Titan gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Shinobu’s Vow (Exotic Hunter gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Light Beyond Nemesis (Exotic Warlock helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Thunderlord (Exotic machine gun) – 23 Strange Coins
  • Shock Hazard Zhalo Supercell Ornament – 25 Silver Dust
  • Queen’s Command Telesto Ornament – 25 Silver Dust
  • Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins
  • Glass Needle – 3 Strange Coins

It’s been a flurry of activity recently for Destiny as it nears its retirement phase in order to make way for Destiny 2. Making plans for the Heroic raid already? Thoughts on how the game is finishing out? Let us know in the comments.

  1. I’m interested in what they will do this time around. Kings fall hard mode was actually good compared to hard mode from the last 2 raids. That being said I’ve never been a fan of difficulty switches. I’ll probably run it just to say i’ve beaten all the raids on hard. But i’m perfectly content with how normal mode is.
