After number of speculations a Demon’s Souls Remake has been confirmed during the PS5 reveal event.
Demon’s Souls Remake Announced
It’s been long awaited for, for FromSoftware fans but finally we get a confirmation on what Bluepoint has been working on. A Demon’s Souls Remake was announced during the Playstation 5 event today. The developer who brought you the Shadow of the Colossus remake along with Japan Studios, has announced that the souls-title will be coming to PS5.
Previously Bluepoint called this project a “Re-Envisioning” which led most to believe it was remaster, however the Youtube video trailer confirms this indeed is a remake and not a remaster.
Entirely rebuilt from the ground up and masterfully enhanced.
What’s interesting is that at one point the Youtube video description according to Reddit included more info that has now been changed. The previous description shared details of two graphics modes, one to focus on graphics quality and the one for frame rate.
It also mentions “Fractured mode” which some believe is an option to allow players to switch to the original game’s graphics, or it could be a nightmare difficulty mode. There is one unused mode a Redditor pointed out called “True Death” a sort of perma-death rogue-like where you would lose certain progress or possibly obtained gear would remain but would be de-leveled.
