Death Stranding Director’s Cut Releases on PC Spring 2022

Coming to both Epic Games Store and Steam this spring is Death Stranding Director’s Cut. Previously released on Playstation 5, the Director’s Cut is a remastered version of the original game, now with the support of Intel’s new Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) graphics technology.

The XeSS’s machine learning according to the press release gives PC players a further enriched experience, set to elevate “gameplay and cutscene performance”.  This improved edition gets not only higher frame rate performance, but also a new photo mode and ultra-wide monitor support.

If you have yet to take on the Death Stranding experience, you should definitely check out our impressions video Death Stranding is Actually Good. This title was definitely a highly talked about game when it was first released in 2019, gaining a stellar cast including the likes of Norman Reedus who plays the main role of Sam Porter, as well as Mads Mikkelsen who takes on the role of Cliff, who once upon a time could have been played by Keanu Reeves. Kojima described the game as a “genre-defying experience” meant to have a lasting impression on those who play. As for a sequel, there are rumours flying around of Death Stranding 2, with Kojima being rather cryptic on his current project, but no confirmations from straight the horse’s mouth as of yet.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut is currently available on Playstation 5 and will be coming to PC in spring 2022.
