Darkest Dungeon 2 Will Add a New Character With Its Upcoming DLC

Darkest Dungeon 2 will receive its second downloadable content, called Inhuman Bondage, this year. Red Hook Studios has confirmed that it will add a new playable character, The Abomination, and a mini-region, The Catacombs.

Darkest Dungeon 2 New Character

The Abomination is back, and this solitary alchemist joins the roster with a unique battle mechanic that allows him to transform into a terrifying monstrosity, with the risk of stressing out the rest of the party.

This new character will have completely unique trinkets, items designed specifically for him, color palettes, weapon kits, and a fully voiced backstory, which will also include flashback sequences featuring combat.

The Catacombs invite players to direct the caravan to a forgotten underground mini-region to battle a corrosive-mucous threat.

This is a high-risk, high-reward area characterized by a faction of enemies covered in mucus, as well as new items that will add variety and challenge to both the original Confessions mode and Kingdoms, a new game mode arriving later this year.

New DLC Inhuman Bondage

The paid DLC Inhuman Bondage will be released alongside The Hunger of the Beast Clan, the first of three themed modules in the new Kingdoms game mode, which will be added to Darkest Dungeon 2 later in 2024 as a free update.

Featuring a reimagined game structure, Kingdoms offers a parallel experience to the Confessions mode. The objective in this new mode is to defend the kingdom from incursions by entirely new enemy factions.
