A tweet from Bandai Namco alongside a CGI trailer during E3 launch has confirmed that Dark Souls III is real and coming to a console near you in early 2016 on PS4, Xbox One & PC (no ps3 or 360 confirmation)

The giant in the trailer looks like Giant Lord from DkSII. I also think that the crown it’s Ivory King’s crown. I would be awesome if the main antagonist of DkSIII was your character from DkSII, since you found a way to undo the curse (at least for your guy).

I think it would be a safe bet that it’s the last one, what with “…only embers remain”
From what the trailer seems to insinuate, or atleast the first line, it would seem Dark Souls 3 could potentially revolve around:
1. An Age of Dark where Fire is just barely hanging on.
2. The very end of the Age of Fire, with the Dark finally taking over.
What gets my interest though is the appearance of the Ivory crown. Could be that it still holds the quality Vendrick blessed it with and our character in DS2 left it to be handed down after their passing.

Well from the trailer, I think I spotted either Anor Londo or Drangleic Castle and fairly confident of spotting Sen’s Fortress
Dunno how I feel about the giant and a crown being featured so prominently… Looks like it may not be much of a different tale after all..
Though I guess Dark 2 repeated some things from Dark 1 for continuity.. We shall see
