Dark Souls Beaten In Under 4 Hours With All Achievements!

Dark Souls Beaten In Under 4 Hours With All Achievements!

Fromsoftware’s punishing action-RPG franchise, Dark Souls  has racked up a track record of equally amazing and quirky speedruns since its conception.

Dark Souls – Godly Speedrun!

Players have beaten the game in all sorts of creative manners with self-imposed restrictions and rules such as the famous Guitar Hero  controller run, the Twitch plays Dark Souls,  playing the game by voice, and even a doing banana run, and so much more!

Recently, a speedrunner by the name, NaxHPL just set the world record for not only beating the game in under four hours,  but also obtaining every single achievement available in Dark Souls.

This translates to tons of farming for the various titante ores and Boss Souls to build every weapon type, in addition to finding all of the embers required for those upgrades. To acquiring every single miracle and magic spell, as well as joining every covenant and gaining ranks to obtain their exclusive items.

You can watch the complete Dark Souls  speedrun by NaxHPL from Twitch, below:

As with all speedruns, NaxHPL made heavy use of skips and glitches. Which in of itself requires an enormous amount of precision and concentration to be able to pull off a successful run. The previous world record in this category was 4:02:01, but NaxHPL managed to shear off a few minutes, bringing it down to 3:57:29.

People who saw the playthrough were understandably dumbfounded. “What the fuck I literally got the Dark Soul achievement yesterday and that shit took a dedicated four months.”  wrote Simple_one on Reddit.

Wait, don’t you have to beat the game twice to get all the achievements? to get both endings and both versions of Sif’s boss weapon. Not only that, but then consider the farming for rare items like all the black knight weapons and the spear of those gargoyle like enemies in Anor londo. That would mean the person beat the game twice in under four hours AND got every single unique item and spell AND joined every covenant.

It means he found / used a bunch of exploits that the developers are surely going to patch :p

the performance of the ultimate nothingness…getting to so much depth in such a small thing always brings back the wise words of Konrad Lorenz:
"Philosophers are people who know less and less about more and more, until they know nothing about everything. Scientists are people who know more and more about less and less, until they know everything about nothing."

speed runners are the scientists of video games somehow
