I’m speaking cosmetically. i agree that rolling shouldn’t feel like BB – merely, in the video, it just literally looks like a dumb thing for a person engaged in battle to do, purely superficially.

Oh I see. Yeah it looks a tad weird i’ll admit.

The animation I saw looked like a light roll from DKS but more fluid. The roll from prone looks like a medium roll but a little faster. The sword spin you saw is indeed a sword art. I’m glad the DKS back stabs are back (meaning you don’t need to make contact like you had to in DS2.

IMO the game looks from the trailer heavily influenced from all games except ds2. Probably the biggest thing for me from this trailer was how smooth the animations and combat looked. This seems like the only thing they pulled from DS2 at least from what I can see in the trailer.

  4. “And the lords have no crowns”- the A-team.

Feels almost like an apology for DkS2.

Just by the gameplay I can see Miyazaki’s face all over the place. It truly is a dark and terrifying game. That thing in the cage/prison is fucking scary.

So there’s backstabs, oh well. It’s just a matter of getting used to them again. I think those were medium and fast rolls, but I’m not sure. Maybe they stole DkS2’s roll length by equipload % (I hope not). Not sure if I saw sword arts…

Judging by the time and gameplay progress they’ve made I say this is gonna get released in February.

Yeah I saw influences from DKS, demon souls, and blood borne even. This makes me excited.

The rolling animation is basically the light roll from DKS but more fluid and less jarring. I like it. If we had the dashing from BB things would be too fast for my liking.

  7. The hype is real for this. Excited to see that this mixes in some Bloodborne style play!

  8. rolling looks dumb now compared to BB’s dashes 1:24 – toon just looks like he’s spazzing out as opposed to carefully executing a move

excited for bow and arrows usage a-la 1:28

assuming the attack at 1:33 is some sword arts stuff. looks fun.

1:40 looks like they included BB’s knockdown mechanice where you can roll from the prone position. good.

  9. Yes we have two appointments to play the game, and we also have permission to record. We’ll be uploading more gameplay footage soon as well as impressions.

    Enjoy the screenshots!

  10. Very interesting. Isn’t there supposed to be a playable demo of DS3 at gamescom?
Do you know if it’s recordable?

  11. I can’t quite hear the last sentence, anyone catch it? Waiting for the screenshots :D
