Dark Souls 3 Embrace the Darkness Trailer

Bandai Namco has released the latest trailer for From Software’s upcoming Dark Souls 3, titled Embrace the Darkness. The game is set to release on April 12th, 2016 for PS4, PC and Xbox One.

In the trailer we are treated to just over 2 minutes of gameplay footage, mostly pulled from the what was available during the recent network test. We are given shots of enemies such as the Dancer of the Frigid Valley boss and the Frost Knight mini boss as well as some environment shots of the new locations. Although much of this has been seen, it is still quite evident the graphical leap the game is making from its predecessors.

Check out our network test video below for a shot at these assets in action:

Also teased on social media with the trailer were the Prestige and Collector’s Editions which give fans a chance at owning something quite memorable in the form of statues and the Day One Edition soundtrack bonus which will be available along with the game as well as a starter guide. From our experiences with the beta, we can already say that From has nailed the soundtrack.

Are you hyped yet? April may seem like a long time away but it’s only a little more than 4 months away before we get this game in our hands, so we can expect to see more and more as we get closer. **UPDATE EDIT**

If the cinematic trailer isn’t doing it for you how about some actual gameplay footage? From Software has delivered a 4 minute gameplay footage release which includes a peak at an epic new boss and a familiar looking long curved sword:

  1. Is it me, or did the graphics look super bad in that vid?

Never mind, guess the graphics card on my work CPU just sucks. I watched it again on my phone, and it looked totally rad!! I also saw a total spoiler vid on you-tube with new game play of some crazy tree boss with pitch fork villagers as minions. I’m kind of bummed I watched it, there were some real “oh, shiz!” moments that I wish I hadn’t seen :(

  2. Haha yeah for real. I think I was just getting used to the fact that PC has always had to wait months to get the game.

  3. Whoops fixed that oversight. I wondered what the deal was with the PC version because I didn’t notice the PC box in the shot at the end of the trailer. These blind Old Hero eyes only saw the PS4 and XB1 boxes and figured that date was only for the consoles. Thanks for pointing it out.

Welcome, I saw SunlightBlade post about it on twitter and didn’t want to leave Fextralife out to dry :) Happy to contributing to this community.

  5. how freakin awesome is it to have to deal with those massive balista bolts raining down on this lovely slope while fighting mobs?

    and dat Murakumo moveset !

this gets me a lot more excited than anything I have seen so far!

  6. “There is no path.
Beyond the scope of light, beyond the reach of Dark…
    …what could possibly await us?
And yet, we seek it, insatiably…
Such is our fate.” – Aldia, Scholar of the First Sin.

Even though I know most, if not all, of the footage was taken from the area they demon’d it still just looks awesome.
