It would appear that owners of the Dark Souls 3 Season Pass on Xbox One can now download and play the game early. Players have been reporting in all over the internet that it works for them, but only in offline mode, and you can see streamers now starting to stream it across the internet. The DLC was slated to launch on the 25th of October, but Xbox One users have apparently lucked out. Unfortunately it seems it that PS4 and PC players aren’t quite as lucky, as no one has been able to get it to work on those platforms.
What is happening? After the many “issues” around the Dark Souls 3 launch, it’s hard to believe that the Dark Souls fan base could be alienated anymore than it already has been, but WOW, I guess we were wrong! Regardless, see the Ashes of Ariandel page for all the information you need about the DLC.

why not? they chose to buy products form Microsoft which only made a console to prevent sony from ruling over the console market they are greedy they are cheaters and if you buy from them you should face the consequences

Correct, the weapons, armors, and spells were included in the patch, but the areas are not. Confirmed by hackers on PC, they can get all the items but can’t actually enter the DLC area without the DLC itself.
You would think peep that bought season pass, way back when, would get early access. That being said, the update was only 670 MB, the download for Ariandel says 1.6 GB…so the DLC wasn’t in the update right…at least not all of it?
I do have to question why they can’t just push up release, seeing as this has happened. I mean it’s not like the release of the game, as this is just an online dlc-release and not one involving physical copies as well.
I can play online without any problems. Glad they did it before the weekend. Will try to coop with my buddy in a bit!

Due to what is probably a mistake, you can buy and play the DLC on Xbox One right now. Don’t know how long that’ll last, so if you were going to buy it anyways now might be a good time.

I was going to ask if this means someone out there might have access to how level range matchmaking will work in the arena…but…the whole “only works offline” bit…
It doesn’t seem like I’m alone in anxious awaiting this information that will single-handedly tell me if I have to delete all ten of my characters and start over from scratch or not. So odd that, of all the information From seems to be keeping locked in a vault, this would be up there.

I’ve barely played through myself. I was thinking about streaming but The quality wouldn’t be good. Not to mention I’m not sure i’m allowed to since the dlc doesn’t officially drop until tuesday.

Yup, after installing the update tonight I went to the cleansing chapel & to my surprise, there was a guy there (the guy from the trailer kneeling). I thought it was suppose to work only on the 25th …
Also, I was indeed Offline cuz every time I tried to play, it kept saying “Can’t connect to the Dark Souls Server” or something close to that, may not be the exact words, you know,drugs
