Dark Souls 3 All Covenants Guide

The Covenants in Dark Souls 3 offer a nuanced way to experience the game’s multiplayer. Discovering where they are in the first place is a different challenge altogether. Fortunately we’ve put together a concise video guide on how to find each covenant. Read on to find the descriptions and consult the video for a complete walkthrough of each location, and check out the Covenants page on the wiki for more details such as covenant rewards, matchmaking ranges and more.

Finding the Way of Blue

Found at the video’s start, the Way of Blue is a co-op covenant that allows Blue Sentinels to be summoned to your world automatically when you are being invaded, in order to protect you. This covenant is mostly aimed towards players who have trouble beating invaders or just like to have some added security. Located in the High Wall of Lothric in the large cathedral by speaking with Emma, this is the first covenant players will likely encounter.

Finding the Warriors of Sunlight

The covenant of jolly cooperation is iconic to the series. This covenant’s talisman and turn in location for rewards are handled a bit differently than the others. To find the covenant item:

  • From the Undead Settlement Bonfire, head left, through the corpse-house towards the burning tree with undead worshipping around it. From here, head straight ahead until you reach another bunch of houses, at the end of the stairs going down. Keep going straight through the stone archway, and into the door of the first house ahead. The room has many hanging corpses. The talisman can be found by falling through the gap in the floor.

Turning in those hard earned medals happens elsewhere:

  • The sunlight altar can be found right before the Dragonslayer Armour boss fight in Lothric Castle. Facing the fog gate of Dragonslayer Armor turn left. At the end of the walkway turn left again. There will be a ladder, climb it, cross over the rooftop and descend into the building. The altar will be right before the door that leads outside.

Finding the Mound-Makers

The covenant for mad hatters. Part invaders, part co-opers, all insane and unpredictable. Before activating the Curse-Rotted Greatwood boss go to the Undead Settlement starting area bonfire. Keep going right past the rooftops with the pointed hat assassins and drop down where you will find a caged hollow NPC you can speak to who will talk nonsense. Nearby, you will find an enemy with a cage on his back. Approach from behind and press “examine”. A cutscene will appear and you will be teleported to the area where an NPC gives you the covenant. Does not work with summons are in  your world. If you activate the Curse-Rotted Greatwood before acquiring the covenant, go to the entrance of the boss room after having defeated Aldrich. There you can activate the summoning sign of Sirris of the Sunless Realms and join in cooperation. If successful, you will acquire the Covenant. You must not have turned Sirris hostile towards you.

Finding the Blue Sentinels

Defenders of hosts in the Way of Blue, Blue Sentinels help protect players from hostile invaders, making the world a safer, better place. It is located in Halfway Fortress bonfire by the Road of Sacrifices. Horace the Hushed will be found in this location and speaking to this man of few words will gain you entry. Turn in items in Anor Londo, at Company Captain Yorshka.

Finding the Watchdogs of Farron

Noble defenders of the woods of Farron Keep, this covenant conjures imagery of the original Dark Souls. They can be found in Farron Keep by praying to the Old Wolf of Farron who lies in a crumbling ruin in the midst of a poisonous swamp.

Finding Rosaria’s Fingers

Located in Cathedral of the Deep and led by Rosaria, Mother of Rebirth, this covenant is the traditional invasion covenant as well as the place to turn to respec your stats and change your appearance. It’s one of the trickier covenants to find, involving a drop from rafters in an already confusing location.

Finding the Aldrich Faithful

An area defense covenant, players swearing loyalty to this murky faction will be summoned randomly to defend around the Anor Londo area. In Irithyll of the Boreal Valley, from the Pontiff Sulyvahn bonfire, proceed straight through the door, left up the stairs and right through the valley of dead giants and into the door at the far end. Immediately on your left is a wall that can be struck to reveal a ladder. Descend the ladder and fight the two watchdogs that guard Archdeacon McDonnell, who will be located in the north-west corner of the room.

Finding the Blades of the Darkmoon

Sharing their structure with the Blue Sentinels, the Blades of the Darkmoon are a covenant sent to protect the innocent and punish the guilty. To join this covenant, you must have learned the “Darkmoon Loyalty” Gesture from Sirris of the Sunless Realm. They are located in Anor Londo by moving the pillar switch on the rotating platform and walking over an invisible path at the bottom of the stairs. The rotating platform must be at the top to access this location. Once it is at the top (allowing access to Anor Londo) go to the bottom of the stairs (on the rotating platform). you will see a bonfire on at platform directly in front of you on the broken path. You can walk on the open air directly in front of your player. Do not deviate from the path until you are perpendicular to the bonfire, then go 90° to your right. you will land safely next to the bonfire. The covenant giver Company Captain Yorshka has a tail like Priscilla but calls Gwyn her father and Gwynevere her sister. Alternatively Company Captain Yorshka can be killed to retrieve the covenant item required to join. You will not however be able to turn-in covenent items for rewards until the next NG.
