Cyberpunk 2077 will not join the list of enhanced titles, as the studio prefers to focus all its efforts on the sequel and other projects they are working on.
Cyberpunk 2077 Skips PS5 Pro Enhancements
Much like one of V’s adventures, CD Projekt Red managed to redeem itself through updates, leaving behind the bad taste of its 2020 launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Today, itโs a fantastic game that has also raised the bar with its versions for PS5 and Xbox Series, as well as the excellent Phantom Liberty expansion.
However, the absence of Phantom Liberty at the Game Awards has upset fans, almost as much as the news that Cyberpunk 2077 will not be updated for PS5 Pro.
“We Currently Have No Plans For PS5 Pro Patch”
Since the consoleโs launch a few weeks ago, the Cyberpunk 2077 community has eagerly awaited news about a potential patch. Now that news has arrived, but itโs not what they were hoping for.
Through the gameโs official account on X, CD Projekt Red dropped the bombshell: they have no plans to release a patch to take advantage of the PS5 Pro’s features.
Still, thereโs a tiny glimmer of hope. The message states, “We Currently Have No Plans For PS5 Pro Patch,” leaving the door slightly open for the possibility of one in the future.

Clinging to that hope might be wishful thinking, especially since CD Projekt Red announced back in May that they had wrapped up development on Cyberpunk 2077, which seems to rule out further updates.
Investing time and resources in creating a patch for PS5 Pro would take away from the other projects the Polish studio is focusing on, particularly the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
